So you're the manager and the roster you have is as below. Its a dynasty league (keep all but 2 players at the end of each season) and you have the 5th pick.

Who do you pick and why (assuming Davis/mkg/beal and most likely lillard are gone)

Deron Williams (Bkn - PG)

Eric Gordon (NO - SG)

Danilo Gallinari (Den - SF)

Brook Lopez (Bkn - C)

Brandon Knight (Det - PG,SG)

George Hill (Ind - PG,SG)

Kawhi Leonard (SA - SG,SF)

Anthony Morrow (Atl - SG,SF

Landry Fields (Tor - SG,SF)

Nate Robinson (Chi - PG,SG)

Tyrus Thomas (Cha - PF,C)

Timofey Mozgov (Den - C)

Alec Burks (Uta - SG)

Tobias Harris (Mil - SF,PF)

If u have to cut 2 players from ur list Tyrus Thomas and Mozgov would be my drops. As for the 5 rookie I would rate them AD, Lilliard, MKG, Beal. Waiters is the logical pick but I have grave doubts about him long term. the guy is already getting hammered for being fat. Royce White looks like he may be the guy to rise up in Houston. Barnes is another one in a good situation and will get his chances but I am not so sure he has a NBA game. Drummond won't do much this year and may be Thabeet revisited but his long-term upside abilities are impressive. I think Barnes would be ur best bet.

I had Okur originally but since his status is questionable he wasnt carried over to this years roster so Mozgov will be my only drop (although Ty Thomas and his stinkin potential came a very close 2nd).

Agree about Waiters and the fact that he's on Byrons team automatically qualifies him for Byron's doghouse.  Kyrie wasnt given the keys until halfway through the season even though the signs were clearly there so our concerns about waiters are somewhat justified.

I really like Whites game im just not sure if 5th is too much of a reach considering the depth the rockets have at F. Would love to pick him up in the 2nd round but im not counting on him being there.  You know what, as much as I hate to say it, Barnes might be my best option in terms of immediate output.  Obviously Thomas Robinson is a likely candidate but even his situation isnt exactly clear cut.  In saying that im clearly lacking boards and he will defintely contribute there....

Is Valanciunas owned?  If he isn't, he'd be my pick.

Something of a muddled group after the top three or four - I like rico's idea of going for Valanciunas, particularly with you being very thin in the frontcourt. Barnes may be better this coming season, but I doubt it's the case long-term.

Unfortunetly Valanciunas is owned.  He was drafted last year and the owner is not budging (I even tried offering my 5th pick for him as he fits my big man high FT% philiosphy).

Any thoughts on Robinson and whether he'll own the PF spot this year?

Robinson will get minutes for sure, but I think "owning" the position is a bit strong- Thompson is still there. The real question is what is he going to give you? There won't be many shots left over once Cousins, Evans, and Thornton all get theirs. He'll rebound alright, but he doesn't block shots or hit 3s. I'd say a poor-man's Kris Humphries would be his ceiling for this year.  Once he's had a year or 2 in the league, Kris Humphries might not actually be a bad comp for fantasy purposes and that's not such a terrible thing.
