Pacers feed: Forward @dgranger33 has continued soreness in his left knee and will be out indefinitely. Granger will get a second opinion and once that is received an update will be provided.
Gerald Green is the add here; Paul George sees a bump as well.

Does this mean Gerald Green will be able to replicate his value from the end of last year (last month was 14.7/3.8/1.6 with nearly two 3s and a steal on 47%/84%)? That would probably make him an auto-add dropping the last guy on your bench.
Or will George, Hibbert, West, and Hill just pick up the slack and/or will they run a lot of small ball with Augustin/Hill/George/West/Hibbert?

Who would you drop from this team? It's a keeper league so I want to hold on to Crowder. Also, Ayon is my only back up center. Should I drop Parsons?

Dorell, you only need so few TO.
0% Agree (0 votes) |
I would cut CJ Miles or Dorell. Neither one seems like they have a great situation this year. Green looks like he might be a huge steal. Of course if Granger improves soon all bets are off. I wonder why "continuing" knee pain was allowed to go into the season and not rectified earlier? Dirk got his knee operated on over a week ago and is into his recovery at least.

I see it as worth the calculated risk. I like Parsons a lot but Green could be tremendous if Granger's issues turn out to be major.

Should I drop Mullens for Green? If Granger is out, would there be more value in Green over Mullens?

Hi,
I'm a new client around here, love the site's content! I'm in ESPN 8-cat standard 10 team league.
I don't want to let go of Young because he could have a good role as a starter during Love's recovery.
I think Favors has good upside for later in the season (even though your current projections as a 6th man are quite low), and i'm low on blocks. I like JR Smith and probably need his 3 pts (especially while Love / Ginobili are out...)
Not sure I want to let go of any of the other guys. Your thoughts? Should I just get rid of Favors and worry about blocks later in the season with a real specialist? Should I get Green over JR?

Green over Novak, definitely.
If Granger comes back in a month, you can probably go back and get Novak.

Green > Favors, but I can't recommend an outright drop because he's got "name" trade value

I've got Mullens, Jeff Green, George Hill, Kirilenko... I also have Paul George which could be nice to have w/ G. Green. I'm guessing Jeff Green? I really think he's gonna make noise this year... Ahhh! Decisions

Yep, Green is the clear drop there.

10x12 is a streamer league anyway, so I'd likely go with Green. I'd also try to trade a big for a more impactful PG.

Really want to pick up Green, but don't know who to drop
I've got Mayo, Hayward, BLopez, and Lillard as my bottom 4 players.
Could do a 2 for 1 trade and pickup Green I guess??

thanks buser! Agree on the trade a big for a PG, just waiting for the season to start so I can sell pek or lopez for a tier 2 pg

Buser, haven't pulled the trigger yet on dropping danny green for gerald green. Danny green posted top 50-70 numbers (2+ 3pts 0.9 blks 0.9 TO)last year on limited minutes, while gerald green couldn't even break inside the top 100 even at 29mpg with the Nets last season (coz of high TO and almost no blocks).
Any insider info to change my mind? What are your projections for green?
I did drop Kanter for Gerald Green in another roto league though. hehehe

This is based on the possibility of long-term problems for Granger where Green starts and plays a ton for the majority of the season.

I have Amare in a h2h money league. Do I drop Amare for green? I'm afraid Amare's injury might linger even when he comes back.... Would you do it?

For the kwahi <=> gerald, I must say it's a 13 cat league (off rbd, def rbd, A/T, minutes, tech fouls & other std categories except TO)
The BBM projections give me ~95 for Green with 32 minutes & 99 for kwahi with the BBM projections (26min)
the question lies maybe in the long term playing time for both players, not only november...
does it change your advice?

Dropping Amar'e would be bold and I agree that the chances that he comes back and is extrememly effective are not high. He certainly won't clear waivers, though. This is going to have to be your call - I'll give myself the out on yes/no by saying that I told everyone to avoid Amar'e in any and all drafts.

I'm in a pretty competetive 14 teams 9-cat roto league, I've been targeting P. George successfully in most drafts. With this news on Granger and looking at the projections, do you guys think taking George in the 2nd round is reasonable?

cj miles or gerald green in roto?

I'm good with George towards the end of Rd2, sure.
Worth speculating on Green over Miles. If he's still available in your league, then there is a decent change you'll get a good shot at a lot of the other good FA adds over the season.

Any obvious drops for Green here? Seraphim probably has the least value, but I could probably easiest afford to drop Crawford or Dudley (I am punting assists in this build). Thoughts?

What about George Hill? With Granger out, there's an approximate additional 14 shots to go around the team. How many will Hill be expected to get, and what would his minute projection be? Thanks!

Dropping Splitter for Green a no brainer?

Just so I understand this, Green is the add? Gerald? But seriously, Gerald was already my favorite shade of Green coming into this season, and was targeting late in drafts. This news makes him a must add for any team for the immediate future. Drop Splitter for Green. I might give Hill a little of a bump, but I don't see his game being effected too much. Biggest boost is to Green (obviously), Paul and Hibbert should see a few more looks. But, looking at drafts, the biggest value add besides Green might be West. His looks were down last season, but efficiency was still there, so with a few more lokos, he could be looking at very good numbers.

12 Team Roto League.
Drop Danny Green for Gerald Green? Or Udoh who the only reason I drafted was for blocks.

Finally, some news:
Danny Granger (knee) will be out for approximately three months following an injection to treat left patellar tendinosis.

Wow, 3 months. I don't thinik he's worth holding onto in standard leagues if he'll be out that long.
100% Agree (1 vote) |
Is there anyone on my team I should drop for Gerald Green? I kind of need Vucevic and Jason Thompson for the big man stats they have helped solidify (blocks mostly, just to keep my team competitive and not COMPLETELY punt that category). And Green has not exactly gotten off to a hot start, but it would appear as though he will have more "guaranteed opportunity" over the next 3 months than Vucevic (competing w/ Ayon) or Thompson (already on the bench, figuring to stay there behind the young bigs of SAC, including Thomas Robinson who may vault ahead of him before the year is up-- being the 5th pick in the draft and all).
Then there's Mike Dunleavy, who is off to a simply ridiculous start so far, but in only TWO games-- he's the #1 rated player by average, so far. Completely unsustainable, I know, but I also don't want to drop him now, only to see him complete one of his "GOOD" Mike Dunleavy seasons, and average like 15 PPG, 1.5 3PT, 47%FG, 80%FT, 5 REB, 3 AST, and low TOS. Seems there's an obvious injury risk here as well, but then again Gerald Green isn't exactly an IRONMAN either.
Kind of hoping I can wait it out today and get some results from tonight's games, checking if Green is back in the starting lineup on IND (and productive), and also how much playing time (and productivity) Dunleavy gets in MIL. But with today's news about Granger, I'm not sure Green will make it through to tonight. .. .

now with granger out 3 months, should i drop stiemsma or brand to pick up green?
im punting points + rebounds, although in my week 1 matchup, i won points anyway (points is the easiest to win even when punting IMO)
should i drop brand or stiemsma for gerald green? believe it or not, i'd probably be more inclined to drop brand than stiemsma, as stiemsma has been CRUCIAL to my blocked shots (i expected serge to single-handedly win blocks for me, which he has not been doing. if i dont win blocks at least 75% of the weeks, then i view him as a waste of a 2nd round pick).

cquiroga - The Pacers need Green to step up, and minutes are going to be there. It's pretty close, though, and your punt-blk setup has me thinking you stay put with Dunleavy.
aj... - Given all the details, staying put seems to make sense. Keep us posted on your season, I'm always curious to see how punt PTS teams do.

OK Managers - this is probably an easy one - but given Granger is now out - In one of my leagues, I have the opportunity to drop him for Rose straight up.
Would you do it?
It seems their timetable for return is now similar and Rose is the better player.
Thanks.

And then, what you would do with Rose being out until feb.?

This league that I'm in - is highly competitive - $$$ buy in - 12 teams x 14 players.
As such - everyone is on their toes in terms of free agents and such. I can't drop Granger for anyone worthwhile in FA. So I figure why not pick up Rose and least know I have the better player on my IR.
Thoughts?
0% Agree (0 votes) |
You are expecting too much from Rose after returning (if and how is a question) from horrendous injury...
I'm in 8 pretty strong & competitive leagues and neither in one (except in keeper one) Drose is on any roster.
You are in pretty bad position with drafting all those injured players (Love, Wall,Bogut,Granger), with that said you have no bussines owning neither Granger or Rose.

You really don't seem to be in a position to carry more injury, and I echo toni's sentiments in that I have my doubts that Rose will be waiting for this far out.

ok - great comments. I'll see what attracts for Granger with other GMs.
In FA - I see the following;
Beal
Ridnour
Lee
J Johnson (SAC)
Jamison
N Young
Ed Davis
M Brooks
Maxiell
Blatche
Like I said - not much out there...
Any recommendations?

Pick up Luke instead of Enes (while trying to trade Granger but not so optimistic you will get any decent value for him, his days of health and good games are passed 3 years a go, maybe even longer). Its possible they are not any other FA's overthere from that named trash (not counting Luke).

Available FA are Bledsoe, JThompson, Sullinger, and Crowder.
I just got offered a deal:
Demar + Stucky for Klay + Granger = may go for this one...
Thoughts?

Pick up Luke,Crowder & JThomspon for Granger,Augustin & Enes.

@tonika_zr
Thanks for the advice. Managed to pick up Luke & Crowder for Augustin & Granger. Did not pick up JThom yet because I forget I had already dropped Enes for Blair earlier in the week (forgot to import my lineup). Given that a change won't make a difference until tomorrow's lineup, I figure I'll wait to see how Blair does tonight. I'm expecting Duncan to start getting less minutes to avoid unnecessary injury.
Thanks!

Great. I dropped Gerald Green last night. Truthfully, I don't mind. He's not starting anymore, didn't produce when he was starting, and I'd rather have an slot to stream players on nights like tomorrow when there aren't many teams playing. In a 14 team, 14 player league that has no limit on moves in a season (8 move limit per week), I feel that I can out-pace Gerald Green's production and target that production toward what I need each week to win my H2H matchup. The top 2 teams get first-round byes in the playoffs... because of this, I feel I need room on my roster to be a "day trader" instead of using a "buy and hold" strategy.

So what's the deal with Gerald Green? We now have our timetable on Granger so he has plenty of time to turn around. However will he? And will he continue to be given the minutes if his performance is continuously subpar? Stevenson today had far more minutes than him off the bench and I'm wondering if the experiment is over and it was time to fill up that roster spot with some other up-and-comer? What your opinions folks? I'm sure there's plenty of you in the same boat as me...

Opportunity has been there and he hasn't done a whole lot with it. I added him almost everywhere after the initial news of Granger being out indefinitely, but have dropped him in a few spots for hot FA's like Seraphin and Vucevic. I'd recommend a hold if you can afford to, but don't mind a drop if there's someone good out there on the wire.

Debating the G. Green pickup. Punting FTs with Mr. Howard. Weakest players are R. Sessions, Beasley and Ike Thomas. Beasley just put in a monster night, and I have few PGs on the staff. Weak in 3s and assists. Ideas?

Oh, and BBM has plenty of G-F-SF types projected above G. Green for remainder of season for my build: Metta Peace, Landry Fields, Alonzo Gee, Carlos Delfino and Eric Gordon.
