Hi Guys,

I'm on a standard 9cat H2H Keeper league and we get to keep 4 players. I have 6 keeper worthy players.

zach randolph
rudy gay
serge ibaka
mike conley
ty lawson
Goran Dragic

Im leaning towards keeping:

rudy gay
serge ibaka
mike conley
ty lawson

but I'm a bit worried about not keeping Goran Dragic as he could be a breakout candidate in Suns this year. Should i drop any of the 4 for Dragic? Thanks!

I would keep dragic instead of Conley. I just think he's going to have the better season and improve where as whilst Conley had a good season I kind of think he's peaked. I also think by keeping Ibaka the extra points dragic will score compared to Conley will be valuable. At worst I think thy are a wash but dragic has better upside.

So I would go Lawson Gay Ibaka Dragic

Don't forget that Conley is only 24 and Dragic is 26, so to say that Conley has peaked already is a bit short-sighted.  They really are neck-and neck, so it's too bad you can't keep both.  I actually prefer Conley though, as good as Dragic projects this season, we still haven't seen him with a full slate, and Conley is a sure thing.  You 'could' argue against Gay and keep both PGs if you want to try a 'punt points' strategy with Ibaka.

It's not short sighted, age doesn't mean automatically if someones younger they have more room to grow, I think THAT'S shortsighted.  But your entitled to your opinion and I admit they are close. Ages aside dragic is showing the biggest prospect of a "leap" and comparing starting numbers when dragic was a starter he was better.

Theres no way I don't keep gay in that 4 and keep 3 point guards out of my 4 keepers when gay is better fairly comfortably than Conley and dragic.

Actually, I do think if someone is younger they have more time to grow, isn't that the way it works?  Conley has another 10 years in the NBA in him, so to think that he's done developping, especially at such a young age, is probably not true, I mean, there aren't many players in the history of the NBA who've peaked at 24 are there?  Of course upside is not unlimited, and you could certainly make a case that Dragic's is higher, and I wouldn't argue with you vehemently, but Dragic did only start 28 games last year, so let's not assume he's the second coming of Steve Nash just yet.  Conley's 2.2 SPG clinch it for me.

Yeah, this is a really tough call. Conley is the bird in the hand, in that you really have a good idea of what you'll get from him. But Dragic could be "two in the bush". He's in a high paced offense and could really be a top 8 PG this year. Is it crazy to suggest you let Gay go? He's a monster, but in many ways his contributions are more easily replaced. Having 3 excellent PGs is never a bad thing in my opinion.

Thanks for the advise guys! I'll take a leap of faith and go for Dragic over conley.. his upside as the starting PG in Suns is too high for me to let go.. i'm still trying to work out a deal to try to get some picks for my other good players. thanks!
