So I know the chances of Spence lasting the whole season without getting hurt are low. But does it really make sense for him to be projected so poorly for the upcoming week? I mean when the man is healthy enough to play, like he is right now, he balls out. Just wondering how this kind of thing is approached in order to make the weekly projections useful. Thanks. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

The problem was not so much our thinking that Hawes isn't a baller, but rather that Bynum's injury status was assuming he'd be active this coming week. That has now been adjusted, and Hawes' minutes/numbers reflect the change.

Ahh yes, Bynum...to be honest, it still hadn't registered with me that Bynum's a sixer. Makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the explaination.

Hawes has been playing good the last three games. Would he be worth adding in a 14 team H2H league or would Splitter be a better pick with his supposely new "starter" role that Pop is giving him?

Splitter > Hawes, so much more fantasy potential there, and Hawes is forever streaky.

Haven't been paying too much attention over the holidays...is Hawes making his case for a starting role, or is his recent production the product of some exigency I'm not aware of? Considering a speculative add for my punt-fg% lineup, which is pretty much dumb as a bag of rocks considering I'm already getting killed carrying Tyreke, Love, Rubio, and Hill. I'd also have to drop either Beal or Crawford, both of whom have pretty solid value absent FG%. Crawford probably is the more expendable, as I also have Walker and am thus in a logjam at PG.

Coach likes Lavoy Allen starting so I'd say definitely not, he'll still be productive on a per min. basis but to be honest he's still not that much better in a a punt FG% scenario. This is another case where you're using perception more than looking at the numbers, much like how you thought that Larry Sanders is a "H2H" player and useless in roto. Just because a player has a poor FG%, it dosn't make him a wise choice for a punt FG% setup. You really have to look losely at the other 8 categories. If you're desperate, you could do worse than Hawes but you need to take some time and examine his stats with other available Centers if that is your need.

I see what you did there: you're saying Hawes is a roto player with no value in auction draft leagues. I'm on board with that.

Allow me to narrow the question: why have his minutes jumped? Somehow related to Richardson, or earned on merit?

He's just squarely in the rotation as FC3, behind starters Lavoy Allen and Thad Young. Kwame Brown was seeing minutes there for a while, but he's largely been a DNP-CD lately.

I would say that his projections deserve a minute-boost at least in the short term. He's been playing about 25 min/g recently but he's only projected with 20 min/g right now

He's projected at 25 mpg through Andrew Bynum's projected return (mid-Feb), then he dips.
