Put in 31.1/g last year.  Is that set to decrease because of his age?  Increase because a more stretched out regular schedule (as opposed to last year's logjam)?  Stay the same?

No worries about KG burning out this year. Celtics have Darko! cheeky

Seriously, KG will proably play the minimum amount required for them to win, but in a super competitive Atlantic division they won't enjoy as many blowouts this year...except when they play the raptors. angel

I'd say pencil him in for 30.5min with the same numbers as last year and you won't be dissapointed.

Also feel fine about KG and his minutes.  The rookies and Darko are simply not going to be anywhere close to as effective as KG this year,  so he'll be in there for 30+mpg again.

I'll add that you can draft him in the 40s or for sure late 30s this year in fantasy drafts, and 9-cat rank was 15th last year, so you can draft him confidently there knowing that he can decline a bit and still be a fine pickup, and if he doesnt' decline much (his stats after  he switched to C last year were even better, and he's doing that again this year) then you've got great value.  KG is one of my favorite value picks this year.

Could be trouble...

According to Doc, are still waiting for Garnett's MRI results and Doc said Garnett could miss 4-5 games but he wasn't certain

Rotoworld stating now : "Updating a previous item, Kevin Garnett has "inflammation of the ankle" and could miss up to two weeks."

any mind about inflammation & basketball? an immediate drop for this week?

The celts seem to have gone small on Saturday with J.Green & Bass in the frontcourt + J.Crawford/T.Williams/A.Bradley/P.Pierce for the guards & SF positions....

How do you see the celtics rotation going forward for this week?

Are Wilcox & Crawford candidates for more opportunities?

thanks

president Danny Ainge: Guessing Kevin Garnett out 2 weeks.

Well there you go, we'll say he's out for sure for that 4-5 games that Rivers guessed, and we'll see from there. But he's not going to help fantasy owners this week, that looks like a certainty.

Devastating news....cruised to a regular season title in a 16 teamer behind Garnett, Noah, and David West.  Now I am pretty much a fish out of water heading into these crucial playoff matchups.

what kind of minutes do you think KG gets when he comes back after 5 to 8 games missed?

They won't bring him back until he's ready for regular minutes (30ish).

Any chance he is back Sunday?

I think that's the current prognosis.  He was going to say Friday, but then pulled back for Sunday.  So I think it's a pretty good chance.  I picked him up for my championship week, so I'm banking on it.  But Sunday gives me a chance to drop if something changes.

Doc on the timetable for Kevin Garnett's return to the lineup: "I think he'll be back maybe as early as Sunday."
