I'll stop just short of saying that conventional wisdom has Kemba Walker in the lead for the starting gig, but even beat writer Rick Bonnell says that Ramon Sessions was brought in to "presumably" back up Walker. So how do you see it playing out? Our projections have Walker eeking out Sessions in the minutes-per-game department and leading the largely uninspiring crew in per-game impact. Does Walker make sense as the starter in Mike Dunlap's attacking offense? Does Ben Gordon's presence affect your view as to who should be starting at PG (and SG)?

Since I own Kemba in BOSF I really hope he comes on this year. Quite frankly the whole team gave up last year. One would have to think that Kemba, MK Gilchrist (I own him also) and Biyombo are the 3 future core players for this team. It really depends if the new coach is more of a developer of kids, or win a few more games with the veterans type. In any event Charlotte will get another high pick next year and finally upgrade their talent base beyond awful. A veteran that is not clearly better than a young player, should not impede his development. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sessions play with kemba at the same time in stretches. Giving the job to Kemba already would indicate he will have a long leash as the starting PG.

I only see this playing out one way.  The Bobcats have talented players, but they're not a good team yet.  This year is going to get ugly fast, and the sooner they realize that, the more playing time they should give to their prospects.  I actually think Sessions could stick on this roster, so he should have a pretty big role either way.  Let's also remember, Kemba Walker was Michael Jordan's guy, and even though he's not controlling player movement anymore, he'll surely have an interest in seeing him take off.  The Maggette trade was a good one for the Bobcats, but they will need to showcase Ben Gordon early in the season if they want to find a taker.  A Gordon trade would bump up Sessions' value a lot I think if he could squeeze a few extra minutes away from Henderson.  So, I see it playing out like 30 mins for Walker, 20 for Sessions early on, and that being bumped up to ~35 & 25 later in the season barring a Gordon trade.

They know they are a bad team. Losses will not surprise them or change their philosophy. The only way this season gets ugly is their 3 core young guys get hurt. As long as they play hard they should be fine. Showcasing Tyrus Thomas and Gordon as starters with the 3 kids would make sense. Of course seeing Tyrus and Gordon play would prolly keep any trades from occuring.

Mike Dunlap wants to play pressure defense and high-tempo offense, which does play to the relative strengths of their key players (Walker, Kidd-Gilchrist, Biyombo, Henderson, Sessions). Mullens could have an impact if he can get his jumper to fall consistently - that skill is certainly unique among all the FC they have on the roster, most of which struggle to do anything outside of finish at the rim. It will be imperative for Walker/Sessions to succeed in creating for others for this team to have any semblance of an offense. How Ben Gordon is utilized is a wild card.

I do not think the Bobcats will be starting Gorden over Henderson or Tyrus over either Mullens or Biyombo.  I don't see anyone on this team being a difference maker for fantasy.  Kemba will hurt you just as much as he will help you but is probably worth a late rd flyer in the hopes that his FG% substantially improves.  MKG and Biyombo are worth late rd flyers as well.

I've got no argument with the current projections. Bobcats seem to like Henderson, so it's hard to see where Gordon's minutes are going to come from- they won't be at PG. My guess would be Kemba and Henderson start, and the other two simply back them up.  One of those situations where you need an injury to one to boost the other 3.

The only guy from that roster that I might draft in std leagues is Kemba, and that would only be as a late round flier in hopes that he improves dramatically. MKG could also be worth a flier, but he seems to be going within 10 rounds and I'm not touching him there.

From Rick Bonnell, beat writer extraordinaire: "Kemba's job to lose."
