West's per game rankings the 4 seasons prior to last: 30, 24, 34, 27. Last season he was the #44 player over the last month. He also was the #40 ranked per game player during the playoffs. Even more encouraging was the fact that he averaged over 37.8 MPG during the Pacer's 11 game playoff run, which is almost 9 MPG over his reg season avg and in line with his previous 4 seasons MPG avg. He's now 18 months removed from his ACL tear/surgery and is still only 32. His current ADP is 100. He's a big part of the Pacer's plans and I expect a big bounce back season. Tremendous upside and basically no downside at his current ADP. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
I have been targeting David West for that exact same reason.

Y! rank of 76 will make it harder to get the big discount on him, but agreed that I'll take him all day in that range.

You mean McKitish's list.. Keep in mind that his rankings are 8-cat, and you do knock West down a few pegs for no-TO leagues

Beat writer Mike Wells is optimistic, as well:
"I ran into forward David West in the building and immediately noticed that he spent a lot of time in the offseason toning up his upper body.
It helps that he was able to work on his entire body during the summer instead of just focusing on rehabilitating his surgically repaired knee like in the summer of 2011.
After spending most of last season getting comfortable with his new teammates and having to find a rhythm again, West ended the season as the most consistent Pacer. I wouldn’t be shocked if he carries that over to this season, too."

the list is in the ESPN draft area...the projections. Which is the important one to me, cause if everyone in my draft sees the same list, and david west is deep in the 100's, that will hopefully lead others to hold off on drafting him.
I am thinking rd 7 (picks 84-96 overall in 12 team league) is when best to strike if that list stays the same.

Ah okay, just found that area. Looks like they are mirroring McKitish's list for their ranks.

Updating depth charts to reflect contract year statuses, and D.West also playing for his next contract (UFA). Even more reason to like him.
