I think people have forgotten just how good this guy was last year because of his slow start. His production has picked up of late and could be in line for a monster ROS. He can still be had for fairly cheap but the clock is ticking. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
As long as Favors plays behind him, he will be slightly inconsistent as we have already seen thus far this season.

i think if anything, these last three games could be enough to sell high on millsap. unless he's traded i'm not sure he can put up the kind of numbers he did last year. i used his first good game after favors' injury to sell high. paired him with vasquez and got irving, who luckily might be back just in time for our trade to process. his numbers the past few games are definitely enticing, but favors' injury coupled with al jeff's back today definitely played a part. just goes to show what millsap can do if he's given the opportunity, but unfortunately, i don't see him being let loose unless he or someone else in the front court is traded.

Dont expect Favors to be back in next few games: "Favors had a pregame flare up of plantar fasciitis and will not play Sunday against the Lakers, the Salt Lake Tribune reports".
You can take to the bank-Millsap or AL J. will be traded (both of them are UFA after this season if I'm remembering right) and pretty sure both will demand a max one.

getting irving for milsap is a great deal.
Big Al and Milsap both are having and will continue to have good years, but you cant ignore the fact that they both have very capable backups and futures that are anything but clear. This leaves question marks on both players, but both have shown that they can and will get it done in fantasy so I wouldn't be too worried.

There's so many moving pieces here, I'm not sure how they balance out: Favors' injury, AJ's injury history, the need to develop Kanter, odds of trading either PMills or AJ.
Altogether, I don't think you can build a convincing argument one way or the other. But if you can get a good value in return and get that uncertainty off your team, go for it.
Love the Irving deal. Especially since Vasquez has been waaay overrated this year - he's somewhere between 'meh' and 'dreadful' for every category beyond assists.

"Altogether, I don't think you can build a convincing argument one way or the other. But if you can get a good value in return and get that uncertainty off your team, go for it."
What he said. I will add that I definitely feel a bit better about Millsap these days given that Favors now has plantar fasciitis - it's not like that will just go away quickly.

Hasn't cracked 30 minutes the last four games. Favors getting more run too. So frustrating. What are the Jazz thinking, exactly? They need to showcase him if they're going to make a trade.

Could be that they just want to develop Favors because they already believe the league knows what Millsap can do. Teams have tape and personnel to evaluate players under any circumstance (some of whom are good others are terrible obviously). I have no doubt that either Millsap or Al Jeff will be traded, and at this point in their respective careers, teams know what they're going to get. It's probably in the Jazz's favor to begin developing their talent now rather than later.
