ttepper, the nice thing about the BBM ranks is that they are completely transparent. Consequently, you should be able to answer these "why does BBM rank this joker there" questions yourself just by looking at the V-values (the numbers with colourful boxes).
In the case of bynum, BBM (Matt and Ken) agree with you that he'll be a 20-10 guy with good blks. They also expect him to have a great FG%. That's the good, which you can see easily because these cats are lit up by bright green boxes next to bynum's name.
Here's the bad (bright red boxes)- he doesn't shoot 3s. He doesn't steal the ball or hand out dimes particularily well. And he will probably turn the ball over at a high rate, and shoot a relatively high number of FTs (poorly).
When you average out the good and the bad, you get the rank he's at currently. Now if you want to move him up the ranks, you probably have to be confident that he's not going to turn the ball over all that much, and/or that he's going to get a few more steals. There isn't all that much wiggle room in the other stats that I can see.
