Recently he's been starting and playing big minutes. If he somehow manages 34-35 minutes he would definitely put up some pretty nice numbers. I wonder if this is a permanent move or just due to Devin Harris being injured. It could be worth buying him wherever possible if this is the case and he is now the starter.

Lou Williams remains in the starting lineup for a second straight game as the Hawks take on the Pistons tonight. Williams got the start at shooting guard in Saturday’s win over  the Bulls and coach Larry Drew elected to go with the hot hand. “Being smaller, it has its advantages and disadvantages,” Drew said of a backcourt that features 6-foot-2 Jeff Teague and 6-1 Williams. “The way we feel we need to play we want to go a little smaller with the quickness. He had a really good game our last game. With he and Jeff in there it makes us a lot quicker, a lot faster and it puts us in a more up-tempo style. We had success with it our last game and we are going to go with it again.”

I don't see defensive matchups allowing Lou Will to play that many minutes on most nights, but any uptick in playing time is a good thing.

Hmmm...So maybe a slight uptick in mins to 30-31 possibly? It's gonna be hard for him to defend guys like Kobe, LOL. I assume DeShawn Stevenson would play more on these nights. Devin Harris is not really much bigger than Williams I don't think. Anyway, 30-31 min. a night would be significant for Lou. LOUUUUU!!! I might start sending out a few offers.

if any "bench" player in the league deserves 36 minutes a game it's lou williams.  for a guy who's averaged no more than 26 minutes a game over the last 3 years, his per-36 minute production of 20 PTS, 4.5 AST, almost 3 REB, 2 STL, 0.5 BLK, and 2.5 THR a game should speak for itself.  i think now would be a good time to buy him low, but i need to see his role stick before i do.

But then you would no longer be buying low.LOL!

there's a fine line between buying low and missing a window of opportunity.  he really hasn't been anythign special this season up until now, so i think owners would be happy to get rid of him, just need to see another game or two before i decide on how much i want to pay for him.  i wouldn't spend anything too much for him, because there's always the chance he goes back to the bench, and i hate bench players.

It depends how low u are talking. If the LouWill owner will take KevMart for him then make the trade today. IF the LouWill owner wants value for his 58 ranking in Yahoo then u aint buying low u are buying high. With LouWill doing well now there is no real buy low window. But if u feel his role will grow then u can pay a good price today and benefit when LouWill increase his production ie.. more minutes. Personally I own LouWill in a dynasty and am becoming comfortable throwing Knight back and keeping LouWill.

When Drew first put Williams in the starting lineup against Chicago on Dec. 22, he did so because the Hawks were shorthanded with the injury to Harris. At the time he said he would have started Harris against the Bulls if he were available. I asked Drew if he has changed his mind due to the Hawks’ 6-1 record with Williams in the lineup.

“I’m going to stay with what works,” Drew said. “That’s been good for us. A couple of games I’ve thought about going back to a bigger lineup but sometimes, as I’ve said in the past, you’ve got to roll the dice a little bit – whether you adjust to the opposition or you force the opposition to adjust to you. Clearly, our last few games if there is an adjustment to be made it’s going to be on their end. I’m going to stay with what’s been working for us. He’s been good in our lineup and I’m going to keep it that way.”

can someone explain to me why Lou Williams was demoted to the bench after exploding as a starter?  He wasn't just scoring big, but his assist numbers were way, way up, and his +/- seemed to be good.  They may have lost a few in a row, but he definitely wasn't the problem.  Any chance he'll be promoted back to bigger minutes?

You can't whitewash "they may have lost a few in a few" because that's all Larry Drew will be looking at. It is hard to get a read on what Drew is thinking specifically these days, and he may be approaching Skiles territory in terms of how he feels about his roster. My guess is that they go to their big lineup for the next game.

Great.  irked

Just what we needed...another "Scott Skiles". It's like, bad basketball coaching decisions just float around out there looking for a host to feed on. Once Skiles was removed, they all floated around looking for another coaching victim...and suddenly, BAM! Hello, Larry Drew!!!  zombie

I know nature abhors a vacuum and all, but this basketball "good coach/bad coach", yin and yang type of stuff is getting old...like, yesterday!  censored

And yeah...I own Lou Will on several squads...  grumpy

Done for the season with a right ACL tear.. Hawks likely go big moving forward (Teague-Korver-Smith-Horford-Pachulia) with Harris and Pachulia picking up some minutes. Lou Will going down locks in Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver with LouWill out of the rotation.
