Granger is expected to return some time in mid-February, that's yet to change.

Is it time to stash Danny Granger? He is progressing well, and targeting February...the injury might linger but.... 0% Agree (0 votes) |
 | mbuser (4316 posts) 1/2/2013 3:09 PM |
Maybe? Lots of league and team factors involved here. I'm not expecting more than mid-round production from Granger, but even small potential for a pleasant surprise is worth noting. The deeper the league, the more sense it makes to starting looking at him. If you can carry dead weight for another 4-6 weeks..

Buse - if you have mwp, kawhi or asik to drop to get granger in a 12team 9cat league, would you do it and for whom? 0% Agree (2 votes) |
That would not be advisable to doo in any circumstances.

Looking at the projections should give you a good idea of my answer. Possibly Asik if you aren't punting FT%, but I'd pursue a trade to open up a roster spot before a straight drop.

I am going to make the move, and drop Danny Green. In first place by a lot in my league, why not?

It's because there was an update about him from Frank Vogel yesterday, although it stated that he's merely still on track for that end-of-January return. Whether you should stash depends on everything else.

Maybe early February?
0% Agree (0 votes) |
Seriously, what the heck is up with this guy. Last decent update on him was that he was experiencing normal swelling in his knee after practice. For all the talk about getting him in before the break, it's been awfully quiet lately.
Is Granger going to pull a Bogut and just randomly start sometime or what?

I, for one, never believed the talk about him returning before the break. It made no sense to try to squeeze in a game or two before the layoff.

So, there does still appear to be a chance that he returns before the break, but logic says that the Pacers will wait. In any case, this is a good sign that he's ready to be active.

Well, if the Pacers are planning on trading the guy, they'll need to show what he's got. That could be a reason to squeeze out a couple extra games if he is indeed good to go.

Sounds like he had "flu like symptoms" or he would have played on Wednesday. Can only trust them.

Still we should know soon whether he plays or not. Plus what his role is. Plus if he gets traded. Lots of answers coming quick on Granger.

I think Carlisle clarified that he would not have played even without the flu, so having some new issues or they want to play it even safer. All I know is if he returns later than Bynum I will not be happy. Bogut already returned ahead of him.

Granger practiced today but Vogel was noncommittal on when he might return. "I don't want him coming back until he feels 100% ready."
0% Agree (0 votes) |
Granger is back. Finally somebody actually returned. Not a great game 1-10 kinda sucked. Even Felton is better than that (some nights). Now if he can stay healthy he should become more productive and useable. Now Bynum, Rose, Love, Drummond, Bogut (again) are on the clock for league changing returns. Thad should/may/might/who knows return tomorrow helping his owners out even more.

Hi all. What to do with Granger? I've held onto him for about 3 or 4 weeks, but he's not delivering much (yet) since his return. Today's knee issue cannot be a good sign. Should I drop, or should I hold?
0% Agree (0 votes) |
Should never add him in first place but that cant be undo so:yes, drop him and never add him again.

Until I hear the "Swelling" word I am holding Granger for a while longer. Sore is always better than pain. There should be an MRI soon that gives some real answers and not conjecture. Yes u should hold him unless there is a very good WW option or u are in a 10 team league.

I'm dumping him in the one h2h league where I'm holding him. Not looking good at all. If there is some soreness and concerns now, then it doesn't bode well for his ramping up minutes, plus the Pacers play six back-to-backs over the next month. I adjusted his minutes down.

I dropped him when I remembered having zach Randolph last year and how he sucked. And that was without him having as much trouble coming back. Seems like amare is the only one who can come back good immediately from knee problems. Wall too I guess but he is often overrated in fantasy.

Agreed that it was strange. Perhaps he tried to work out this morning and had to cut it short because of pain.
