Hi guys, Im just wondering at what point should you start trying to sell your "sub starter" players? Like I have Amir Johnson, who I have been using since Bargs has gone down and has been beasting the last week. I checked your projections for Bargs and Valanciunas and they are projected to play 35 games for the rest of the season which means Amir has maybe 8 games left without competition. Should I be trying to move him now? Also when these "sub starters" play really well, do you think they have earned minutes ROS and shouldnt be sold?

Shopping a player before they are about to lose playing time certainly makes sense. Perhaps you find someone who values Amir for his recent actuals and doesn't think about it enough to realize that he won't maintain his recent paces once Bargnani/Valanciunas are healthy. Of course, Amir isn't going to lose all his playing time, so you don't just trade him to do it. As for your last question, that's completely a case-by-case basis, so there is no single answer.

Leave that up to the other owner. Work off of Amir's actuals and see what happens.

Thanks Matt! Used the custom projection tools to see what sort of upside Amir has if he plays 26 mins and Jonas 22 if they split the c mins between themselves and if he plays like he did last week he'll still rank around the 14 mark and when I used the last 2 weeks he put up around the 45 mark, think this is possible if he plays 26 min? Around 11-13 pts 8 Rebs 1.2 stls 1.4 blocks and good % and decent to?

I'd say that kind of rank and those kind of numbers are pretty ambitious to expect. I own him in a couple leagues and love what he's been doing but I seriously doubt you're going to get much more than a reliable late round guy for Amir. It doesn't hurt to try but if you start offering Amir for guys around the 45 mark rank-wise, you're probably going to make the other manager think you don't have a serious offer to make. Just my 2 cents.

I think his good play has probably earned him a few more minutes than he had to start the season but near the end of the season if the Raptors are out of the playoff race minutes are likely going to Bargnani so he can be showcased for a trade and to Valanciunas so he can be developed. This is all reason to try to trade him but possibly what will prevent you from doing so as well.

Plus I just read a report saying "Johnson is barely able to walk or endure a full practice but continues to play through an ankle injury, TSN 1050 AM reports. After Sunday's loss to Milwaukee, fellow Raptor Demar DeRozan stated, "People don't understand how hurt Amir (is)."

Thanks for the input dmwave, yeah I think the top 20 in 26 min is definitely out of the question. The top 45 prob not either due to inconsistency with the minutes being below 30 but I think in 26 min hell be able to put up solid lines maybe ros rank 55-65 IMO, If he can keep playing like he has as the biggest hindrance I think was his foul trouble problems which he seems to be better at that lately. I am worried about that ankle though and agree w you with the end of season playin time going to Jonas and bargs, if he isn't traded by feb..... I'd trade him now but Id like good value as Casey can do a Calderon/Lowry w him and Davis and his upside is amazing. Would you try to move him though for a top 60 player?

You can definitely make the offers and see if you can catch a guy who isn't doing their research. What I would do though is look at the guys ranked 55-65 and see if YOU would want to trade away one for Amir Johnson. My guess is you wouldn't dream of it. However, you may be able to snag someone projected near there who is currently a little banged up, or has been performing way under expectations so far.
