What will his value be if the Raptors trade Bargs for Boozer? I just traded Felton for Amir and after all the talk today I am starting to get worried. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

Amir will be fine. He'll remain the clear FC3 in any event.

Yes, if you needed big-man stats.

I'm wondering what people thinkg about Amir Johnson after this season. It doesn't seem like he would be part of their long term goal, but he's played quite admirably in a rough situation in Toronto this year.
I have him in a keeper league for very little cash and I'm not sure if I want to sign him for a couple years or not. Thoughts?

I'm not a Toronto fan following this closely, but my reading is that he's in a pretty good situation there. They've been believers in him for years, that's why they gave him that big contract. Advanced stats love him, and have for a while. Perhaps most importantly, they don't have much in the way of roster flexibility. Ed Davis was traded away, as was their first-round pick for next year. They've got $65M in salaries for next year on the books already. There just isn't much room to make a move.
The one wild-card is Bargnani. A Bargs-Boozer deal would obviously be terrible for Amir, and amnestying Bargs could free up some money to get a PF, but I wouldn't necessarily expect either of those to happen. Even if Toronto does bring in a PF, Valanciunas is developing slowly enough that there will be room for Amir at C.

Amir should scare the heck out of u. It was less than 2 months ago when he did his not give the ball back to the referee temper tantrum. Toronto is a weird team in that they have so many long term contracts but as a team they are not very good. That means anybody they bring in may be an upgrade or at least in line for minutes. Long term it boils down to how good u think Amir is.

That incident with the ref should have no weight at all when considering Amir's keeper value. That was an isolated minor incident. I'm a big fan of Amir especially with Davis gone. The only issue would be that bargs-Booz switch or any move that gets a PF, but Toronta looks like its all-in on the all-wing offense. That said, he better be really cheap to consider as a keeper cuz he's not quite irreplaceable

"The one wild-card is Bargnani." The worse Bargnani plays down the stretch, the less likely he's traded this off-season. And amnestying him doesn't put them under the cap, so it would essentially be a pointless move. I'd lock him up if he's cheap, but everything is up in the air as it stands.

Thanks for the input guys. I literally have him for the grand price of $1 so there isn't much risk, just a roster space.
I have faith in him as a player for the most part, it's the Raptors office that I don't necessarily have faith in. Any team that signs Andrea Bargnani to that kind of deal...

$1 for Amir is money... Who are you keeping him over @ what price?
