With Rubio's injury, Roy's knees and the fact that Adelman was the driving force behind signing the kid I think he can be a decent  late round pick.  Any thoughts?

I really liked watching him in the Olympics, and have been surprised to see him getting picked at the end of drafts (I thought I'd be able to sit on him and pick outta FA after pre-season).

My concern is he simply won't get enough minutes to make an impact. Even w/ the Rubio injury, he still has to deal with Ridnour, Barea, Roy, Budinger all being in his way.

I don't think he'd be a crazy gunner, cause his passing game is too good.

In all, I think he'll have some big nights here and there (15 pts, 7 assists, 3-4 3's, etc), but not on a consistent enough basis.

I honestly don't know enough about this kid to even be responding here, but I'll just share my thoughts anyway. He had flashes in the Olympics where he looked great, and he has a player he's comfortable playing alongside in AK47. Adelman being high on him is definitely a good sign, especially considering that Adelman doesn't seem too excited about B Roy getting big minutes. If he gains any fantasy relevance, I wouldn't expect it until after the all-star break. Keep in mind he will be competing for minutes with both JJ Barea and Ridnour as well when Rubio comes back. I'm taking a wait and see approach with Shved and expect him to be on the waiver wire in most leagues. No need to draft him in my opinion.

I like him, and suspect he'll get enough minutes in the early going to warrant a roster spot in deeper leagues or as a last round flier in roto.  With size, vision, handle and a decent shot, he'll get minutes at both point and the two; at least until both Roy and Ricky show they are up to game-speed and stamina.

Shved's already got chemistry with Kirilenko, having played together both on CSKA Moskva *and* the national team.  And Coach Adelman has been talking him up: http://www.startribune.com/video/172912341.html#/172912341/video/1/  (specifically at 1:15 [Adelman] and 5:52 [Kirilenko])

His style is closer to Rubio than Williams, with better FG% than Ricky.  Shved should be able to adapt to Adelman's system quickly.  However, he's nowhere near as experienced as Rubio with NBA rules, pace, and physicality, or even fluency in English; so, he'll have some real rough spots initially.
