I can only keep 3 of them using my first 3 draft rounds (not even sure it's worthy to just redraft by keeping my picks)  so i'm thinking about different scenaries:

Keeping three of them : Keep Parker, Al Jefferson and Rudy Gay.

Trade some of them :

  • Al Jefferson for a  #1 Round
  • Al Jefferson and a #3 Round  for Westbrook and a #7 Round
  • Rudy Gay and a #3 Round for Westbrook and a #7 Round
  • Tony Parker for a #3 Round
  • Rudy Gay for a #3 Round

I'm playing a Yahoo! H2H league and this is my roster:

Do you think i should just stick to my Kepper plans (Parker, Gay , Jefferson) or should I try to move for Westbrook giving either Jefferson or Gay?

Is Lawson not included in these scenarios?  I'd keep him for sure next year.

I'd make the Gay/Westbrook swap and keep Westbrook/Jefferson/Lawson.

¿So do you reckon it is worthier keeping Lawson rather than Parker for next season?

I was thinking maybe Parker will take a bigger role in Spurs offense next season while Lawson might see his numbers reduced given the big number of players in Nuggets rotation.

Yes, I do reckon that it is. Parker is a good option, Lawson is a better one. Have you seen Lawson's numbers since he pulled himself out of his early slump?

Also, Parker will turn 31 in May and coming off a career year, while Lawson is 25.  If these are guys who you might be considering as keepers a couple years down the road, age becomes a significant factor pretty quickly.

If you can make both the Parker trade and the Gay/Westbrook trade, even better.  A third-rounder is worth a lot when you can get it by giving up someone you weren't even going to keep anyway.

Thanks guys. You've helped a lot.

i have finally made the Gay/Westbrook trade and now i am trying to move Parker for a #3 round.

What i dont still know for sure is if i will try to move Big Al for a #1 round or will just keep him for next season.

Thanks again!

I don't see Jefferson as a guy that must be kept. Its very likely that he's not playing in Utah next year, and where he ends up will have HUGE ramifications on his value. I doubt he gets as long a leash as he has in Utah anywhere else unless that team is a complete mess.

Now trading him for a #1 pick is also risky as that pick is effectively a 3/4 round pick after all the kept players are off the table, and he should still be able to give that much value at least. I would look to trade him for a more gauranteed big man (Aldridge maybe?)

Yes, even with the uncertainty, Al Jeff > Rd4 pick next season for me.

Is this trade happening before or after keepers?  If it's before, then it's keep Parker (or someone else) instead of Al Jeff, and get the 1st/4th-round pick, right?  I'd do that even if you can't redraft Al Jeff with the pick (do you know where in the draft this pick would be?)

It may be worth it to go through everyone's rosters and mark down the best players who can't be kept for next year.  Where does Jefferson rank among this group?  In an 8-cat league, there may be better options out there.

Your league settings say there are 13 players on a roster but you only list 8.  Is anyone else in keeper contention?

I completely glossed over that this is 8-cat, which is definitely a knock on Jefferson.

Actually I don't know why it says it's 13 players because it's wrong. We only have 8 players per team and 16 teams in the league.

I was offered several times a #1st round pick for Jefferson, but at the moment i wasn't sure about the move, and I don't think I cant make it now. Lately I've been offered a #3 Round for Tony Parker and my #4 Round, which I think

Given my keepers were supposed to be Westbrook, Lawson and Jefferson, I think it's better than nothing to trade Parker for a #3Round (giving my #4 Round) rather than just losing him (because I can't keep more than 3 keepers).

It will say - and values will be based on - whatever you have plugged in for League Settings

As far as the trades, based on what you've said it's looking like you end up with either: keep Al Jefferson + Rd3 (81-96) or keep Tony Parker + Rd1 (49-64). In 8-cat, I'm likely going with the latter pairing.

Parker + rd 1 has more value I think... You will end up keeping 3 pg which is not optimum in my opinion. Not sure how you're doing this year, but maybe package Jefferson AND Parker for sure thing keeper big plus picks
