Lets talk, is he worth a 12 team keeper league H2H 9 cats (fg%, ft%, 3, pt, ast, stl, blk, reb, a/to%).  15th rd flier?

He could be filling in the OJ Mayo role in Memphis, and with those settings, he's even better.  I'd definitely grab him if he was around in the 15th.

HIs upside is a bit capped because Conley is neither injury prone or prone to getting in his coach's doghouse (unlike when he as backing up Calderon), but he should certianly have a decent role off the bench.  Coule certainly do much worse with a 15th rounder.

15th round? I think so. He's pretty serviceable even in limited time, and yes it looks like he's going to take on Mayo's role, though Tony Allen could, and more probably would, take on a lot of minutes at the 2.

I like him.  He looked like was really starting to break out in Toronto last year before he got hurt.  I think he is in nice situation backing up both the 1 & 2 spots in memphis.

Hi all,

Wwhat's your feeling these days on bayless? I thought he would be able to be a leader in the 2nd unit for Memphis, but so far he sees 0 minute behind tony allen, meaning, he's averaging only ~15min per game (versus 21 projected by BBM). Do you see him continue like that? He would hold no value unless conley breaks....

Bayless is a good source for points. It's early in the season and I'm planning on keeping him on until I see something better on the waiver in my leagues for now. I know he's not putting up numbers but he is the primary backup at the guard positions. I see value in the long run but I'd keep an eye out on the waivers just in case. Conley is made of glass....

Right now Bayless is pretty much only playing backup PG and Ellington and Pondexter are mostly covering backup SG.  It's worth monitoring to see if that continues.  Tonights game against the Bucks' small backcourt of Jennings and Ellis could be an opportunity for Hollins to play Bayless at SG some more, so we'll see if that actually happens.  Bayless has been fine in his limited minutes  (bad fg% but is distributing well) but it is hard to hold a ton of value in 15mpg.

Thoughts on Bayless as a stash? I noticed his minutes have been climbing and if he can get his FG% up to the 42% range like his last 2 seasons, he could be quite valuable. What are your thoughts on him and his recent spike in minutes anyone? Just dropped Alan Anderson due to Landry Fields/Ross/rest of TOR SG/SF positions getting minutes for him in a 16 team 9 cat roto

Anderson > Bayless. Bayless will see a few extra minutes while Quincy Pondexter is sidelined on the nights that Wayne Ellington doesn't play a lot, but he's been bad all season and won't have a chance at "quite valuable" territory without a major injury to Mike Conley.

Not an ideal matchup but he should play plenty if Conley is out.

Originally I really didn't think that he would get much run after the gay trade but now I'm thinking they will need him to be a scorer and spread the floor so that the bigs won't be crowded down low. Think he'll have a bigger role off the bench? I can't imagine prince raining threes though I think his career 3pt% isn't bad.....

I've been wrong before but, no, I don't see Bayless' role increasing all that much.

who do you think they'll use to spread the floor? Could be a sneaky source for 3s.... Cant imagine that theyd let the other teams crowd their bigs in the paint.....

Since Ellington has been traded (and Pondexter's been out too), Bayless has been playing a decent bit more SG, and he's responded well.  I think that continues.  He'll be better than he was early in the season I expect.  Still not sure he'll be worth a roster spot in standard leagues but he could produce enough to be helpful in deeper leagues imo.

Season averages for 3PT: Prince 43.4%, Pondexter 42.3%, Austin Daye 51.2%, Bayless 30.5%

And it's hard to do worse than Bayless' current on/off court numbers: http://www.82games.com/1213/12MEM3.HTM#onoff
