So.. now that Love is out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand, where should he be drafted? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
if he drops to 23...ALL MINE!
that wont happen. he is still first rounder. maybe late now... just gotta suck up the first few weeks of the season.

woah...now wolves PR man is saying 6-8 weeks. So worst case... two weeks until season, so mid-december. Take him a week or two to get back into rhythm (cardio should be fine since its his hand). So really...christmas time. In roto that is deadly...h2h, not as much, but you really would need to survive about 7 or 8 weeks till he is back.

I have a feeling the original 4-6 wk timetable was for season only, 6-8 weeks might mean "starting now." Either way, he probably dips into the second round now.

with bynum...and dirk...and now love.... that 4-12 spots are getting pretty darn interesting in upcoming drafts

even Howard, too. The status of his back is still a bit sketchy, and that's usually where he'd go in H2H leagues.

true.
Looks like westbrook is almost a lock for top 4 now.

This really makes pick 3 a heck of a lot easier.
I agree that spots 5-12 get interesting. There could be some great 2nd round picks now due to injuries.

that is the funny thing... even late 2nd round i would hesitate in taking dirk, as who knows how long his knee will act up, and he was already showing signs of slippage last season.
bynum was an annual injury bust until last year. perhaps last year was a fluke. I would hesitate taking him late 2nd round as well.
since its kevin loves hand...he should be fine and in top form by new years, but still...some nice options late in round 2 that would be missed during that opening month and change. Of the three, taking love would be the easiest choice in 2nd two, although he is also the one guaranteed to miss the most time, dirk/bynum bring more "lingering injury" concerns.
so even if these guys drop to round two...tough tough choices

Tough to speculate on Love's value right now, but my thoughts when I heard the news were of Pekovic's value. I know they play different styles, but with a thinner frontcourt now I would think that Pekovic would be asked to play more minutes and would see a nice bump in stats in the absence of Love. And as much of headaches that they are, Beasley and D. Williams seem to have some value now as the stats have to go somewhere on that roster. I think this could also trickle down to Brandon Roy who could be a worthy gamble if he can sustain some minutes on the court.

I'll agree with that. I also think it makes Chase Budinger more valuable, especially in deeper leagues. They'll be hurting for a 3 point shooter now and Budinger could help fill that void.

I think Pek and Kirilenko are the two who get the biggest bump from Love's misfortune. Derrick Williams has yet to show that he deserves that time and since AK47 could slide to the PF that might bump Budinger a bit too. I don't see Roy getting any more minutes out of this since it seems that Adelman was uncomfortable with having him on the team in the first place. I just don't think Roy's body could endure a bump in playing time.

I think among all players in Minnesota, Derrick Williams will benefit the most. He and Kirilenko can play both forward spots and are interchangeable. Budinger would likely come off the bench. I don't really see them wasting Derrick Williams' talent and time to develop.
