Last I heard, was possible he'll miss start of the season, but might not miss it by much.

Had surgery on Aug 21 and was expected to miss eight weeks, which brings him back right before the start of the regular season. Nothing has come up yet to change his timetable for the better or worse.

The Clippers decided it was best for Paul to sit out their showdown with NBA-leading Oklahoma City on Tuesday at Staples Center. It's unclear when Paul might play again. Del Negro would only say Paul couldn't play against the Thunder. "We'll hold him out and see how he feels the next couple of days," Del Negro said. "There's no timetable. Maybe in a week, I'm not sure what it's going to be right now. I know he's not playing (against Oklahoma City). He had an MRI last week, when he (hurt) it." Further tests could be scheduled soon for Paul, who was injured when he bumped knees with Orlando's J.J. Redick in the closing moments of the Clippers' loss to the Magic on Jan. 12. Paul sat out the Clippers' three-game trip to Memphis, Houston and Minnesota. "He'll probably get some X-rays and things, just to double-check some things," Del Negro said. "He's just sore. It wasn't made worse. It's a pain-tolerance thing. It's a bone bruise on your kneecap. You have to be able to run and move and cut and jump and do things. It's going to be sore for a while. "He's got to work through it. We've got to get him some therapy. When he's ready, he'll be ready."

The Clippers play three games over the next four days, and for now we're assuming Paul misses all three.

So.. Larry King tweeted this:

You read it here: Chris Paul told me last night that he will be out 2 weeks w/ a bruised knee -not good news for fans including me

Larry King!  Didn't know he's a Clipper fan.  Looks like Bledsoe is going to get some extended run for a short while.

Chris Paul got therapy at practice. VDN says Paul may play on trip. CP has bruised right kneecap.

"May" play during an 8-game road trip that lasts through Feb 11? Not the optimistic news that we were hoping for..

How likely do you guys think this is actually more serious then it really is? I'm thinking of trading for him but have to give up 2 very good players to do so. I think its worth it if hell still play the rest of the season but Im worried that the reports coming out of LA are hiding whats really happening....

If he is back after ASG that would be great (no way he is missing weeks now if its some minor injury and losses are pilling up fast w/o him).

dont see him returning any time soon, dont trust any team more regarding injured players, they called he has bruised kneecap-now its passed 16 days and closing in for the whole month missed, no way he has "just the bruise", everything is possible but really dont see return before ASG (even if I got him in 2 of mine leagues).

Any time it has to do with knee and bruise its a lengthy wait it seems.  Plus knee cap being something that is movable its even worse.  I was naive and thought it would be quick so passed on Bledsoe and his now two weeks of production.  Silly me!

The timing has also been bad in that it's a lengthy road trip where they have little-to-no available practice time. But there's also no good reason for them to bring him back early, with another two full weeks of rest available if they hold him out through the ASB.
