Is there a reason projections for Luol are so low in terms of points?  14.6 seems awfully low considering Rose won't play most/all of the season.  Deng's wrist is a concern but he decided against surgery so is it serious?  But I'd think an increase in assists & points are in order for projections, not a decrease.  Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the heads up. I took a look and, upon further review, we did have Deng's FGA lower than what should be expected. But the other part of this equation is that his wrist is expected to keep him FG% relatively low, which obviously works against his PTS.

He played with it last year and still shot 46%.  Why all the way down to 40%?

Because he actually shot 41% last year, and 40% post all-star break.

From Andy Behrens, who knows all things Bulls-related and plenty otherwise:

"Deng's wrist is just CLEARLY bothering him, and any suggestion that the problem is in the past is absurd. He took an offensive foul from Tyreke last night, late, and spent several seconds down on the court, grimacing & holding his left wrist. He shakes the hand, he clenches it, he looks at it ... he is not feeling OK. Just being a tough guy, trying to get through the season w/o surgery. He went 3-of-13 last night, and I'd be surprised if he can shoot much better than 40 percent for the year."

Our projection already assumed a terrible FG%, but if he's dealing with pain like that, then counting on him playing out the season doesn't seem very wise, either.

Maybe his wrist is getting better:

Nov 8 Deng poured in a season-best 27 points (11-21 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in 42 minutes as Chicago lost to Oklahoma City.

Recommendation: Outside of the offensive end, he notched just two assists, a season-low one rebound, one block, and one steal. After a 3-for-13 performance in the season opener, he's hit 31-of-60 (51.7 percent).
