Just even more reason not to draft Stat this year anywhere for me.

It drops him to 70 for H2H? too high or too low?

Amar’e Stoudemire is seeking a second opinion to determine the severity of the left knee injury that could keep the Knicks power forward sidelined for the first month of the NBA regular season.
Stoudemire is consulting with Phoenix Suns orthopedic surgeon Dr. Thomas Carter, according to a Suns source. Carter performed microfracture surgery on Stoudemire's left knee in 2005, when he played for Phoenix. It is customary, and in some cases encouraged by teams, that players get a second opinion from an independent physician.
The Knicks’ team doctors discovered that Stoudemire had suffered a ruptured cyst on his left knee during last week’s exhibition game against the Toronto Raptors. The timetable given by the Knicks for Stoudemire’s return was two to four weeks, but the same source says a more plausible timetable is four to five weeks.

BBM projections overvalue Stat right now because it still assumes he plays 73 games. His "real" value is in freefall.
RUN, don't walk, away from Stat!

Yeah no official change in his timetable, but I did bump his injury status to later in November.

right now there is talk of at least 6 weeks out for Stat. Glad I avoided drafting him even though he slipped to fourth or fifth round.

Hearing now mid december, be happy if he return untill New Year, after leaving Phoenix never drafting him.

I also have Nene on IR. Is Amare worth holding on to? I know he can def. help me when playoff time comes but will holding on to him put me too behind in the regular season? 0% Agree (0 votes) |

i would let him go based on the info you provided -- remember amare was barely a top 80 guy last year -- might be worth holding in an IR slot over nene though

How behind are you at this point and who would you drop? Settings? We're talking at least another month and the team isn't exactly missing him as of yet.

On track for a mid-to-late December return. Could end up as the team's sixth (seventh?) man, which is hard to argue with given that the Knicks currently have the most efficient offense in the league.

With Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby each battling left-foot pain, the time has never been better to start easing in Amar’e Stoudemire. Stoudemire is closing in on getting cleared to practice fully with the club. He is expected to make his return sometime this month while Iman Shumpert is on his heels, looking at January. Coach Mike Woodson has said Stoudemire still needs to be cleared by the medical staff to cut and absorb contact before practicing. The Knicks, who were off yesterday, have two practices later this week. “It’s exciting,’’ Carmelo Anthony said of the prospect of Stoudemire and Shumpert returning. “Amar’e is working his [butt] off. Shump is working extremely hard. We’re ready for them.’’ So there is room for Stoudemire as a reserve at the very least. According to the Knicks, Stoudemire still is on pace to get back sometime during the six-to-eight-week time frame they set on Nov. 1 after his knee-debridement surgery. The Post reported mid-December — the earliest part of the window — was unlikely and he was hoping to return around Christmas.

We've got Amar'e pegged for a Christmas return.

The Knicks tried to trade Amare Stoudemire, who is still not ready to return from knee surgery, to roughly every team in the league this offseason, The New York Times reported Thursday.
An unnamed NBA executive told The Times that STAT was "available for free" and the paper reported the Knicks were ready to offer him up for Andrea Bargnani at one point. The offers were reportedly met with muted interest due to concerns over Stoudemire's contract, age and health. Although the Knicks and STAT have talked a good game about making this work, it's obvious the team is not sure how the former All-Star will fit in their lineup when he hopefully returns in late December.

Amar'e's regular season has concluded. JR Smith, Kenyon, Novak should inherit the minutes. Perhaps we see a bit more of old-schoolers Camby and Kurt Thomas.

Nobody is going to fault you for not giving certain players the benefit of the doubt, avoiding them in drafts altogether, etc. It's the spamming of threads - repeatedly stating what you've already stated - that gets you the downvotes.
