9 category roto, 7th pick 14 team 13 deep
I've been going back and forth between my initial picks in my mock drafts to either look something like this:
Al Jeff, Pau/Marc, Lowry,
or
Kyrie, Pau/Marc, Batum
My league is fairly competitive and I don't like to punt categories. Going with Al Jeff in the first round, I'm making up on 3's and assists in the middle/late rounds and with Kyrie I'm making up on big man stat's. Generally I've found it a little easier to find big man stats in the middle/late rounds. If I go Kyrie, I'm really hoping Anthony Davis falls to me. Any thoughts on either strategy? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I prefer starting with two big men, and then getting the best PG available.
There are a lot of good guards in rounds 6-10. You can get Teague, Thomad, Holiday or Martin in those rounds.

Also, not to mention, this league only starts 1 Center spot, so having two centers is not really the most important. If i had pau/marc and then supplemented with big men later in the draft i think i would be in a good situation

I have the 6th spot in a 15 team league, and have run a lot of mock drafts at that position.
I have been able to get: Jefferson, Ibaka and Lowry fairly regularly. That covers a lot of categories, and you can then get a big (like Ilyasova), a guard (like Teague or Holiday). I find that in the later rounds, you can pick up 3s easier than rebounds. For that reason, I would tend to go big early.
Also, I am not yet sold on Kyrie.

so draft just finished, it was fairly competitive as i stated. guys were being reached for at a lot of time and i couldn't really get exactly who i wanted, but here's my team:
1 - kyrie irving
2 - carmelo anthony
3 - paul george
4 - tyson chandler
5 - zach randolph
6 - nikola pekovic
7 - brandon knight
8 - samuel dalembert
9 - evan turner
10 - luke ridnour
11 - chandler parsons
12 - jerrd bayless
13 - kevin seraphin
does this team call for me to punt assists pretty much?
gosh, and two hours later, news comes that tyson has a sprained knee and going for an MRI. last year i drafted brook lopez the day before he was out for a few month.
