I drafted durant 2nd in my league, I decided to but him on the trade block just to see what people would be willing to overpay for him. currently i have only gotten 1 offer:
deron williams and carlos boozer, i would end u p dropping chandler parsons in order to get this deal done..
give me your thoughts on durants value. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
Better than that offer for sure. What u need for Durant is 2 borderline elite players for him. AlJeff and Dragic for example. Kobe, Brandon Jennings these type of offfers. Deron and DMC would move me. Basically u have to be bowled over and not settle for nominal upgrades. If it is keeper u do not trade Durant EVER. The truth is u cannot overpay for Durant. For example in my auction league I got AlJeff for 44 bux. I got Paul George for 30 bux. LBJ went 83 Durant went 80. Even though Durant went for more than the 2 together alJeff and Paul george would be hard to turn down.

9 cat roto: similar topic, should i offer lawson and cousins for LBJ? Drop camby that i just picked up, or mullens, or novak.

I would make that offer if u can get lbj for that. lawson needs to stay healthy so if u can get rid of him and get lbj in return that would be a nice move. i would drop mullens.

I got offered Kevin Durant for Russell Westbrook and Al Horford. Should I take Durant? It's a 14 team, 14 player, H2H league. thx

Try plugging these deals into the Trade Analysis tool
It very rarely makes sense to deal someone like Durant, because nobody will actually give you what he's truly worth. Here's the trade in the OP:

In a 14/14 league, I would trade Durant for Westbrook and Horford in a heartbeat if I also got at least a middling big or pg to go with him (think BroLo, Pek, Teague, etc.). Getting the best player in the deal by far.

whuford - Westbrook + Horford is much closer to actual impact. Who would you add from the free agent pool?

I would probably punt assists and add Tiago Splitter or Ekpe Udoh.

Trade Analyzer says that it's close overall, with big-time categorical swings:

I'd do it in general, given that you clearly receive the best player in the deal, who also happens to be the #1 player overall.

@mbuser
i wonder about the trade analyzer
would it be better to measure the trade without splitter as he is slight net negative? it would almost seem as though you could just look at overall value -- kd at 1.01 and westy/horfy at .86 and make an even more persuasive case for durant
the guy getting kd probably should be measuring kd plus the guy he now has to stick in his starting lineup (hopefully better than splitter)
another factor is dividing the health risk by two - losing kd would be crushing while losing horford or westbrook would just be only horrible :-)
i'm wrestiling with this as an auction participant -- do i want durant for 80 or westbrook for 55 and horford 38?

Sure, it's a 2-for-1 between your two teams specifically, but that fourth player that you add to the deal is part of your team's resulting changes, as well. The only reason to leave Splitter out is if you plan on having a vacant roster spot.

Thanks mbuser,
I think I'm going to pull the trigger. Even though Tiago Splitter is who I'd grab today, what I truly plan on doing is streaming a new player nearly every day to attack whichever category I feel I can turn from a loss/tie to a definite win. I have relatively low TO team in a league that offers first round byes for the Top 2 teams of the 6 playoff teams. There's no season limit to moves, only an 8 move/week limit. Of course, if I found a player on waivers that was worth holding on to long term, I would... but for now, being able to turn a few 5-4 victories into 6-3's or ever 5-4's into 5-3-1's seems worth making the trade, especially given that I'm getting KD.
Last concern, does the Harden trade help Westbrook at all?

Buser, even better than the trade analysis, I prefer to run the change in each team and run the projected standings tool. I usually use the trade tool to convince other people and to start the analysis, but even if you end up losing in a trade, it may make sense depending on each team. Also, I do not like using the player I will pick up in the analysis, since most probably there is a better player in my bench, so I use that player in the analysis of whether it makes sense to make the 2 for 1 trade.
