On most pages, you can view a Frustration Value (FrV) which attempts to quantify how frustrating owning a player has been. It's shown as a Value where the lower the value, the more frustrating the player. Feel free to offer feedback here as we continue to adjust the process. 100% Agree (5 votes) |
Frustration Value combines what exactly (injuries, rest games etc...)? In that case, i think Kawhi being -0.48 you guys are very gentle with him, he should be close or over -1,00 with his history 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I had the same thought myself when I saw that. I love the idea though of trying to quantify that sinking feeling you have when you are about to draft a guy like that. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It's currently being calculated for each season so for Kawhi, it only for last season you're seeing, and he was pretty reliable until the end of the season. Allowing a "# of seasons" option under the display would give a more historical view. 100% Agree (1 vote) |
We've made the following adjustments to the Frustration Value: - Compares the top players rather than the entire league which should now compare players likely to be drafted.
- Less weight applied to Doubtful games the player missed.
- Less weight applied to Personal games the player missed.

Does the frustration value cover mostly injuries or does it mostly cover frustrations that arise from our inability to project the player's stats accurately in the past? 0% Agree (0 votes) |

I'll have Jordan Poole a negative value in frustration but he's a +0.68. Jaylen Brown together with Jrue Holiday, fairly decent players and easy to predict have -1.95 and -1.97 respectively. How do we calculate this? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
As above it seems FrV reflects games missed. Jordan Poole is frustrating because you think he will breakout but doesn't. But in terms of games played the guy is rock solid. And the Celtics are notorious as a team for resting players and JB is pretty injury prone for his age. 0% Agree (0 votes) |

How about Tobias Harris? Played 70g last season. His FrV is -2.56 which is very low. Joel Embiid on the other hand played 39g (very frustrating as I owned him last season); his FrV is -1.07. FrV metric needs more review in my opinion. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
It's totaling "frustrating events" so if a player is questionable/probably and does not play that qualifies. Doubtful and Ejections are included too at a lower weight. A missed game due to a long=term injury is also lightly weighted which is why Embiid is better than Harris. It is the initial attempt so we will adjust based on feedback. Also, it's currently showing the value for last season, and adding the option to view a longer time period will be added. 100% Agree (2 votes) |

Never thought I'd have a "favorite" value stat...until now... 100% Agree (1 vote) |
Great column addition. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
I notice that Embiid's and Kawhi's frustration value is lower than, for example, Donovan Mitchell's. Is this bc we know what we're getting (or should I say not getting) from Embiid and Kawhi as compared to Mitchell? 0% Agree (0 votes) |
The value you're seeing is based on last year when Kawhi wasn't too bad. Embiid missed time, but once large chunk. Mitchell was in/out a lot. 0% Agree (0 votes) |
