Kaman went through limited basketball-related activities on Saturday, but he's out again on Sunday, "as expected," and his status for the remainder of the season remains in doubt. Coach Mike D'Antoni said on Friday that Kaman playing again this season was a "long shot." Kaman himself said Thursday that he'd like to play for the Lakers' final two games but wasn't sure it was possible. "It’s slow … the calf is a weird thing," said Kaman. "I don’t know if it’s possible (to return this season)." The Lakers will continue to start Jordan Hill and Ryan Kelly up front with Kaman's status up in the air and Pau Gasol (vertigo) likely sidelined for the rest of the season.

Kaman has been ruled out for Sunday, his third straight game missed due to a right calf strain. The Lakers will start Ryan Kelly and Jordan Hill together in what will be a very depleted frontcourt, with Robert Sacre available off the bench and Wes Johnson able to slide over and serve as a stretch power forward. Pau Gasol (vertigo) is also out once again and and could miss the rest of the season.

Kaman will miss his second straight game on Friday vs. the Mavericks due to a right calf strain. The Lakers will start Ryan Kelly and Jordan Hill together in what will be a very depleted frontcourt, with Robert Sacre available off the bench and Wes Johnson able to slide over and serve as a stretch power forward. Pau Gasol (vertigo) has already been ruled out and could miss the rest of the season.

Out Right calf strain Open link
Kaman has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings with a right calf strain. He was seen with an ice pack on his calf after Tuesday's loss, when he initially suffered the injury. Jordan Hill will re-enter coach Mike D'Antoni's ever-changing rotation (he was a DNP-CD on Tuesday) and start at center in Kaman's place alongside Ryan Kelly. Robert Sacre will also see additional run off the bench backing up both frontcourt spots with Pau Gasol (vertigo) already ruled out.

Kaman has arrived at the arena and will start in Thursday's game vs. the Bucks, sending Ryan Kelly to the bench. He did not end up making the trip to Milwaukee with the team earlier because of a personal issue, instead getting there later via a commercial flight. Jordan Hill and Kaman will comprise the Lakers' starting frontcourt, with Kelly and Robert Sacre available off the bench.
2/28/2014 12:57 PM
Probable Sore back Open link
Kaman is considered probable for Friday's game vs. the Kings with a sore back. He was a late scratch on Wednesday with the injury, and his likely return will cut into the minutes of Jordan Hill, Robert Sacre, and Ryan Kelly, who have all been marginalized as of late anyways with Wes Johnson sliding over to power forward. We should also note that Nick Young (knee) has been ruled out, as expected.
2/26/2014 7:15 PM
Out Sore back Open link
Kaman is a late scratch for Wednesday's game vs. the Grizzlies with a sore back. Jordan Hill, Ryan Kelly, and Robert Sacre will all see extended run off the bench in his place. Of note is that this isn't related to a buyout. There have been no talks on that subject, as Kaman said he likes playing for the Lakers.

Comment2/11/2014 2:28 PMTrusted Advisor jphanned 0% (0)He's absent in weekly for now (which defaults to next week) because unless a trade happens he's expected to continue to DNP-CD and not play at all once Gasol returns.

Comment2/9/2014 3:52 PMTrusted Advisor jphanned 100% (4)As a Kaman owner in a deep 16x14 league, would not mind a Pau deal at all. Been super productive on a per-minute basis all year. All he needs is a steady 22-24 mpg to be relevant.
Comment2/3/2014 11:51 AMjohnd2442 0% (0)35771 - I'd think Hill AND Kaman would be beneficiaries to Gasol being out. That said, I would be surprised if Kaman didn't play in all four of the Lakers games this week.
Comment2/2/2014 6:11 PM#35771 0% (0)how is kaman projected 4 games if he hasnt played 1 since jan 17, plus shouldnt hill be more of the beneficiary?
