Injured Left thumb surgery Open link
The Blazers announced that Aldridge underwent surgery on Monday to repair the injured radial collateral ligament of his left thumb. He is expected to be able to return to basketball activities in about eight weeks. Aldridge originally suffered the injury back in mid-January, but opted to delay surgery until the off-season. "We are having a good season and I want to keep it going," he said at the time. Aldridge should have plenty of time to recover in time for training camp next season.

Aldridge said he will play in Wednesday's season finale vs. the Mavs, as expected, and expects to play "regular minutes." Coach Terry Stotts had implied that he'd like to get Aldridge some playing time seeing as how he hasn’t seen game action since April 9. He has missed the past two games due to a sprained left foot, and though an MRI on Friday came back negative, he has been held out by the Blazers due to lingering soreness. Aldridge's return will cut into the minutes of Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland in the frontcourt.

Stotts added that he's hopeful Aldridge will be able to return to the lineup on Wednesday in the team's season finale, but his status is currently unclear. Aldridge won't play in Saturday's game vs. the Jazz due to a sprained left foot. Coach Terry Stotts said that he underwent an MRI on Friday that came back negative, but the decision was made to hold him out because he was still dealing with some soreness. Stotts added that he wasn't sure if Aldridge would be back in the lineup on Monday but he'd like to get him minutes before the playoffs. We'll continue to update his status as information allows, and Meyers Leonard, Joel Freeland, and Chris Kaman will see additional run in the frontcourt for however long he remains sidelined.

Out Sprained left foot Open link
Aldridge has been ruled out in advance of Saturday's game vs. the Jazz with what is being called a sprained left foot. There were no previous reports of a foot injury though and all indications are that he's simply being held out for the purposes of rest, with the Trail Blazers all but locked into the fourth seed in the Western Conference. Meyers Leonard, Joel Freeland, and Chris Kaman will see additional run in the frontcourt in Aldridge's absence on Saturday.

Active Rest Open link
Aldridge and teammates Nicolas Batum and Chris Kaman are not on the Blazers' injury report for Wednesday's game vs. the Timberwolves, as expected, and will return to the active roster after being held out on Monday for the purposes of rest. All three veterans have been playing through minor injuries recently, and the team made the decision to hold them out and save them the wear-and-tear of a cross-continental trip for the single game. "It's a long flight for one game," said Aldridge.

Aldridge and teammates Nicolas Batum and Chris Kaman will not travel with the Blazers to Brooklyn and will sit out of Monday's game vs. the Nets to rest. All three veterans have been playing through minor injuries recently, and the team made the decision to hold them out and save them the wear-and-tear of a cross-continental trip for the single game. "It's a long flight for one game," said Aldridge. Batum's absence will mean additional minutes for Allen Crabbe and Alonzo Gee on the wing, while the absences of Aldridge and Kaman will open up minutes in the frontcourt for Robin Lopez, Meyers Leonard, and Joel Freeland.

Active Sprained left index finger Open link
Aldridge will be active and in the starting lineup for Friday's contest vs. the Suns, as expected. He was listed as probable in advance of the game, but it was purely precautionary, as he returned to the lineup on Wednesday and played 36-plus minutes without issue after a one-game absence due to a sprained left index finger. Aldridge's continued presence will cut into the minutes of Dorell Wright, Meyers Leonard, and Joel Freeland at power forward.

Aldridge will be active and in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game vs. the Jazz after testing his sprained left index finger in pregame warmups. Aldridge is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Jazz. He sat out of Tuesday's loss due to his sprained left index finger, which is fortunately not related to the torn ligament in his left thumb that he suffered in mid-January. Aldridge being questionable bodes well for his chances of playing, and at least signifies that the injury isn't too severe in nature. Dorell Wright, Meyers Leonard, and Joel Freeland would continue to see additional run at power forward should he have to miss more time.

Questionable Sprained left index finger Open link
Aldridge traveled with the Trail Blazers for the team's two-game road trip after missing Tuesday's loss due to his sprained left index finger, but his playing status for Wednesday's game vs. the Jazz has yet to be determined. That the injury is not related to the torn ligament in his left thumb is good news, but he said Saturday that this hurt worse than when he injured his thumb, and added that wouldn't rush a return and risk anything further. Dorell Wright, Meyers Leonard, and Joel Freeland will continue to see additional run at power forward if this were to cost Aldridge additional time.

That the injury is not related to the torn ligament in his left thumb is good news, but he said Saturday that this hurt worse than when he injured his thumb, and added that wouldn't rush a return and risk anything further. This doesn't bode well for Aldridge's chances of playing on Wednesday either in the second leg of a back-to-back. Aldridge remains doubtful for Tuesday's game vs. the Warriors and "most likely" will not play, according to coach Terry Stotts, due to his sprained left index finger. Aldridge is considered doubtful in advance of Tuesday's game vs. the Warriors after he suffered a sprained left index finger during the first quarter of Saturday's loss. Out Left hand Open link
Aldridge won't return for the second half of Saturday's game vs. the Grizzlies with what the Blazers are calling a left hand injury. He appeared to aggravate his left thumb injury when he was hit on the hand while battling for a loose ball during the first quarter. He remained in the game at the time and did not appear to be particularly affected by the aggravation at the time, but there's clearly concern here given that he's been playing through a torn ligament that was originally expected to require surgery and a six-to-eight week recovery. X-rays were negative, and we'll continue to update his status as information allows. Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland will see the surplus run in the frontcourt for the remainder of Saturday's game with Aldridge unavailable.

Active Sprained right thumb Open link
Aldridge is active and in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game vs. the Spurs, as expected. He went through light portions of practice on Tuesday and said he would play, following a one-game absence due to a sprained right thumb. Both X-rays and an MRI of the thumb came back clean, but he was held out on Sunday with the team wanting to play it safe. It also should be noted that this is not the same thumb that Aldridge suffered a torn ligament and elected not to have surgery on, which is obviously good news. His return will take back minutes in the frontcourt from Meyers Leonard and Chris Kaman.

Coach Terry Stotts said after Sunday's game that Aldridge's thumb injury isn't serious and he's hopeful that he'll be able to play on Wednesday, although he remains questionable at this point. Aldridge suffered the injury during Friday's loss, although he was on the floor prior to Sunday's game warming up without a brace or showing any noticeable signs of pain. It also should be noted that this isn't the same thumb that he suffered a torn ligament and elected not to have surgery on, which is obviously good news. Meyers Leonard and Chris Kaman will once again see additional run in the frontcourt if this costs Aldridge any more time.

Aldridge was on the floor prior to the game warming up and was not wearing a brace on his thumb or in noticeable pain, so this doesn't appear to be a major injury. Active Torn left thumb ligament Open link
The Blazers have announced that Aldridge will delay surgery on his left thumb and will play on Saturday vs. the Wizards. He was originally scheduled to miss six-to-eight weeks after suffering a radial collateral ligament tear in his left thumb, but he's tested it with a splint in recent days and will attempt to play the remainder of the season with the tear while putting off surgery until the off-season. "We are having a good season and I want to keep it going," said Aldridge. It's quite a turnaround from his statement of just a few days ago, when surgery was the choice. "We just talked to both of the doctors and they didn’t feel like the risk was going to be worth the reward. It can be worse on the back end and I could even wait two weeks and try to play, and then end up not playing anyway. We just feel like the smart thing to do is to take care of it now." We can't assume that there won't be any complications the rest of the way, but for now Aldridge is back in the Blazers' lineup.

Injured Torn left thumb ligament Open link
Aldridge will undergo surgery to repair a radial collateral ligament tear in his left thumb and is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks. This was the fear, and signs were pointing toward ligament damage after an earlier MRI test was inconclusive and his thumb was placed in a cast. Aldridge's timetable means he will miss the next 18-24 games, counting Thursday's contest vs. the Celtics. Nick Young suffered the same injury during the preseason as Aldridge has and returned to the court in just over seven weeks. Aldridge left Monday's win with the thumb injury after his hand hit DeMarcus Cousins' knee while going for a steal attempt as Cousins was driving to the basket. Coach Terry Stotts will continue to go with a frontcourt committee of Dorell Wright, Chris Kaman, Thomas Robinson, and Meyers Leonard while he remains sidelined.

Injured Left thumb Open link
Coach Terry Stotts said that the results of Aldridge's recent MRI were "inconclusive" because his left thumb was still too swollen. Aldridge will undergo a second MRI test on Thursday to figure out what's wrong with his injured thumb, which is currently in a cast. He remains without a timetable for return and will miss Thursday's game as well in the second leg of back-to-back. Aldridge left Monday's win with the thumb injury after his hand hit DeMarcus Cousins' knee while going for a steal attempt as Cousins was driving to the basket. X-rays were negative, so he has no fractures, but only an MRI will rule out possible ligament damage. Victor Claver started the second half in Aldridge's place on Monday, and Chris Kaman, Thomas Robinson, Meyers Leonard, and Dorell Wright will also be in line for more minutes for however long he remains out.
