Someone offered me Jae Crowder for Middleton in a 9-cat, H2H keeper league. Should I take it? Sitting at first place and going for the win this year. Playoff week 20-22. Has an IR spot but it's taken up by CP3 right now.

Looks like weekly projections need to be updated. 1st week of POs shows all 0s, he should be playing a reasonable allotment of minutes by then. Thanks for the hard work.

So he's still about a month away if that report is to be believed and I'd guess he'd be limited for a week or two after that, which takes you up to first of fantasy playoffs. Is getting a zero for 4-6 weeks going to be a lightning bolt to save your season? I think if you are in season saving mode, you can't afford that many zeros

What if you're awful and need a bolt of lightning to save your season? And would be dropping someone like Trevor Booker?

He would start with minutes restriction for sure. But if your locked into a playoff spot in a H2H league or have an open roster spot or IR in roto league I think he's a great pickup

i think it was something middleton mentioned but id still take it with a grain of salt. i doubt bucks will risk him if they fall out of contention. im looking at him more like paul george a few years ago when he came back from the leg issue.

I see Middleton as a last minute desperation guy I grab in the playoffs that somehow helps me win...if he even comes back in time. I just don't think he'll be very effective for at least a month once he's actually back on the floor

Good article on where Middleton is at. Sounds like he is targeting first full practice around the All-Star break, and not rushing to get back, so give him at least 2/3 weeks after that first full practice before he's playing in games. Unfortunately I wouldn't bank on him having a big impact but he could be fun in the last week or two of fantasy playoffs. http://nbpa.com/an-inside-look-at-khris-middletons-rehab-and-preparation-for-his-return/

jhiller -- Whether or not to stash Middleton depends on your team: where you are in the standings, and whether or not you have a free IR spot to stash him. In general, I wouldn't bother chasing that ghost, and if I had an injury to another player, I'd end up dropping Middleton to put the other player in the IR.

Nice little update today, with a projected return of "sometime after the All Star break". Still too early to stash?
30.3d
kylemckeown16
In the story that was just released, Middleton said that the earliest he could possibly return would be around the All-Star break but that that is also the best-case scenario and unlikely to happen. His original return timeline was 6 months, and that's probably where he'll land. As others have said, if you have an open IR spot to stash him, feel free, but if you have another player get injured, be ready to dump Middleton. Everyone should still be planning on him being out until close to the end of March. And even when he returns, he'll likely be on considerable restrictions for awhile.

There is almost zero risk if you have an open IR spot. Keyword is open. If and when one of your players goes down, then you will cross that bridge when you're there. There is almost zero risk to stash him assuming your team is healthy; I for one don't understand the pessimism as if this requires anything of significance to be sacrificed?

The injury he is coming back from is quite severe. His hamstring completely tore away form the bone. Sure, you can grab but what do you do when another one of your players gets hurt? I wouldn't want to hold him for multiple months when it's highly unlikely he is that helpful when/if he comes back. Let's also keep in mind players tend to be quite a bit more optimistic on their injuries...take what they say with a grain of salt.

mareshcj -- I think holding on to Middleton this season or looking for him to play big minutes when/if he returns is like chasing a ghost. Until we get some kind of update on his progress in a month or two, I don't think anyone should expect him to contribute in fantasy this season in standard leagues.

I have Giannis and Jabari in a 10 team. Very unlikely Middleton does anything this year, but would his impact given my share of the Bucks make any sense to an insurance add at some point?

No clue why anyone would down vote what you said. Going to assume they have never had a major injury and don't understand the seriousness of this one...and or tearing something completely off the bone and having to get it surgically reattached.

Is there anyone in professional basketball that has had a similar injury and made a full recovery with their game intact? I'm no expert but I do know hamstring injuries are tricky as it is. What more for someone whose fantasy value is dependent on a jumpshot.

Ever hear the expression, "Don't p___ on my head and tell me it's raining"? Changing Middleton to reserves without changing his minutes or auction value or adjusting other players minutes etc is a totally meaningless change. What I was requesting is an actual fix. I get that it might be too hard to accomplish at this point. If so, just say so and I'll move on. Thx

@mrpoker i used my 2nd pick in the 3rd round (from a trade last season) on a keeper league and selected Duchess too. this blows. hoping my team and the Bucks are in contention for the playoffs. only reason i see the Bucks risking having him play the final 10-11 games of the regular season is if they are contending for the final few slots for the nba playoffs. this sucks!!

I honestly think they bring Brogdon in. They could move Mirza in and play Jabari at the three but his defense will be atrocious there and Mirza is horrible defensively as well. Mirza gets a bump, but so do the other two and that's how I've reflected it in projections until we hear more
123.1d
jw9nine
Josh- you think in that order? I just looked at Brogdon's college stats and it's pretty good for his senior year. Improved numbers each year. I've watched him 2x I think and shooting form not as smooth for a SG but not a big deal I think. Bigger question is, what is Jason Kidd's approach to playing rookies?
123.2d

Brogdon, Delly, Teletovic should see more time and touches. I also think it means we see more MCW too, not for spacing obviously.
123.2d
Subliminal17
And the Bucks have no spacing once again. Bayless is on Philly and Middleton is out for a few months. I think Kidd is gonna rely on Dellavedova and Teletovic a ton this year if Jabari's shot isn't heavily improved. Thoughts?

If Middleton is really going to be out up to six months, that means he may not be ready to return until after March 21st. A lot of fantasy leagues end a few weeks early on March 26th. We can potentially consider him out for the season as far as fantasy is concerned. Now we just need to determine who benefits from Middleton's absence.

really only watched 1 Bucks game the past 2 seasons. any reason to think that TOs will be closer to 2 than 2.5? I see his 15-16 avg is 2.3 and he was at 2.8 the past 3 months. which means early in the season was closer to 2 or less.
