Depending on how savvy your league is, you might be able to sell Oladipo's name value/upside in a trade for Jonas, Gortat, or Dieng. You may find some success in a 2 for 1 with one of your lesser players if needed.

I'm not sure anyone has any answers as to why he's been such a letdown this season. He looks like a different player this year (and that's not a good thing). He's playing so passive next to Westbrook and isn't really getting many minutes without Westbrook on the floor.

Singerryan -- We still really don't know how serious the wrist issue is. Coach Donovan keeps on saying that Oladipo is improving but that his wrist is still sore. This feels somewhat similar to what we went through watching Justise Winslow sit out for a month while being called day-to-day. Is he a drop candidate? I'd say only in shallow leagues where there are some really good healthy players on the wire. However, I'd only drop Oladipo if you're outside of the playoffs and need a healthy roster to fight up the standings. If you have an IR or are in a good spot in the standings, I'd definitely want to hold onto Oladipo.

Will say this again, Dipo will come close to his upside value once Westbrook eases off the pedal. Being passive on offense leading to being passive on defense. Maybe that Lowe article makes total sense from the thought process of OKC. Would be more productive if he came off the bench like Gordon.

65.2d
drkinbote
I don't think the move to a 6th man role will be bad and might actually be good. His noticeable drops in r/36, a/36, fta/36, and to/36 should all rise with Oladipo getting more usage as the primary ball handler and being more of a focal point coming off the bench. I agree that his increase in 3a/36 at 5.6 from 4.2 last year might go down if he becomes 6th man. I wouldn't be too worried about his minutes in such a scenario, because I presume he'd see the floor in crunch time. I just hope that would mean Semaj Christion stops getting 16 minutes a game.

The way I read it is they traded for him to play sixth man assuming KD was still there, but without KD, they are starting him unless they can swing a trade for a wing, which as Lowe states, is not as easy as just going out and getting someone.

I want to see if I can trade lou williams and oladipo for carmelo. It's hard to imagine oladipo to trend up with the way he's being used in the offense. He is being used to stretch the floor but his game isn't playing off the ball. He thrives when he has the ball in his hand. And when he does have the ball in his hand, it's only for a 3-4 minute stretch.

Can't fault him for signing the contract, he got paid. OKC is going to have to figure out how to utilize this guy. He just stands in the corner on offense, makes zero attempt to rebound, not getting any blocks. It's pathetic to pay someone so much money and to perform like this.

This guy just looks lost and disinterested. He played his former team as if he was sleepwalking through the game. Defensive stats really suck. Josh said to hold tight and let him adjust to the new team, but it just looks like he hates playing with Westbrook. I'm not surprised Durant left this team. Westbrook may have had 16 assists but he kills the rhythm of anyone playing along side him. I'm annoyed with this draft pick of mine.

Well, he's averaging 5.6 3 attempts per36 and making them at 42 percent thus far, so it's not like passing those up will translate into a better field goal percentage. Where would you find data on the time that Dipo and Brodie are on the floor together? If their minutes are staggered enough, I'm worried that the drop in rebounds is a thing.

73.3d
brezzab
Are Oladipo's steals going to re-appear? From the limited time I've watched the OKC defense, it doesn't look like he plays a lot of on-ball D or even stays in the passing lanes that much. Anyone have any insight? I lost last week by a single steal so I'm pretty salty that he hasn't contributed.
75.4d
kylemckeown16
Oladipo is a good buy-low candidate right now, but if you trade Carmelo for Oladipo, you're doing that mostly hoping that Oladipo will rebound enough to have about the same value as Carmelo. I think Oladipo's upside is higher because he might make more threes and gets more steals, but I might be trying to trade someone other than Carmelo for him so that I'm not paying top dollar for Oladipo.

agree he won't shoot 34% all year. imo though, he'll have a hard time getting to mid 40s if he continues to take jump shots and not enough drives to the basket. or if OKC doesn't create off the ball/alley oops type of plays for him. another thing (i know it's early) is that haven't seen him play PG when Russ is on the bench. He might still be learning the system and that's why but if they plan to just have him for the most part spot up and wait for passes from Westy when he drives, that FG will hover in the low 40s or lower. He doesn't shoot well from mid and long range.
80.6d

He's not going to shoot 34% all year that's a guarantee. What's less sure is how many assists he will be able to put up with the amount of usage Westbrook takes
