Obviously, Gordon is not going to do this on a nightly basis, but when he's playing the PF and has opportunity like this, with Vuce out and Ibaka struggling, he can produce. Hopefully they deal him to somewhere he can start and play the 4.

Seems like a lost season. Should be really good one day when he is played in the proper position and utilized correctly...but that day isn't coming any time soon. I was recently an advocate for holding him but it's simply time to just face the facts and jump ship.

Agree with @jbs5635, I've already cut Gordon loose. Unless they trade Ibaka, Gordon is still playing out of position and is abysmal at the SF spot. I think the GM loses his job if he moves on from Ibaka after being universally ridiculed for the draft night trade for Ibaka.

I think he's the most underperforming player this season. In Yahoo! standard 9-cat leagues, his preseason ranking is 53. His current ranking is 221. Aside from those coming from injuries, can you name another player who's current ranking deviated more from the original projected? SMH

His shot is so off at the moment, but I don't believe we were irresponsible with his projections. Before he went to the bench he was 108th in 8 cat leagues in 30 minutes a night. Preseason we had him projected at 31 minutes ranked 81st. I think that's pretty reasonable, but now, his confidence is done, he is playing an unfamiliar role and he can't hit a shot. He was struggling to a degree in the starting lineup but not to this level.

I said this last season and got downvoted big time but I'll say it again: this guy is STILL raw and is going to be a very long project. His shooting and dribbling skills are awful for a SF (although marginally improved), something he is not. His comparisons to Shawn Marion are laughable at best considering Marion was a top 10 player in his second year in the NBA. It is also absolutely irresponsible that fantasy basketball blogs were building this guy up as much as they were (including here at BBM) since most people ended up spending a mid-round pick on Gordon. With Ibaka locked in as the starting PF, there isn't much hope for Gordon this year. Sorry folks :/.

furbysaur -- If you're in a good spot in your standings and there aren't any obvious pickups on the wire who are (or could be) better than Gordon this season, I'd be holding him. However, if you are getting buried in the standings and need help now (and there is someone good to add on the wire), I think you need to at least consider the possibility that Gordon will be stuck in a reduced role for too long to wait. I'm personally holding for the time being.

Reminds me of the situation with oladipo and skiles last year...benched until he realized how stupid he was and then Dipo beasted the 2nd half. Think it will be the same with Gordon. Green simply CANNOT be the starter over him. Vogel will cave eventually....

TheNorthSide - I would probably not use a #1 waiver on Gordon at this point (FYI I used my #1 waiver on Nick Young last week for comparison). Maybe add him as soon as he clears waivers? I own Gordon on another team, and I'm being patient for now.

TheNorthSide -- Whether or not to use your #1 waiver really depends on your league. What caliber of players get dropped in your league most seasons? Is Gordon as good as I will get, or will someone panic and drop a guy when they shouldn't? That's how I usually weigh whether or not to use my top waiver priority. Are you sure you'd have to use your #1 waiver to get Gordon? As much faith as I have in his talent, he hasn't been setting the world on fire, so people might not be looking to use a waiver on him.

cbat -- In general, I think people should be patient with both Gordon and Winslow. They should both be good standard league players down the stretch this season. The Magic are going to have to change their roster at some point, and Winslow is locked into a big role when he's healthy.

Does his role as SF concern you? Likely takes a few more jumpers. Likely dents his fg%.
94.8d
joshlloyd48
He was terrible today, but he also grabbed 10 boards in under 25 minutes the other day. I'm convinced they start Vucevic and Ibaka and that will allow Gordon to grab more boards, but we did drop his rebound rate this season due to the presence of these other big men. But I will agree, he looke dterrible today, but hasn't looked that way in the other games.
94.8d
Nate_Swan
Any concern on AG after today's game? Fair bit of value predicated on RB's, and looks like Biyombo was doing his best DAJ impression and hogging all the defensive boards. Small sample size but looks like the Vuc/Ibaka/AG front court much more favorable for AG's value than if they clog things up with Biyombo. Hope Vuc doesn't get traded!

Basically the only thing we are expecting differently from him from last year is to take a few extra shots per 36. Rebounding, steals, blocks are at a similar rate, we just expect him to take a bigger role in the offense given the players they have lost, and it's actually a pretty similar role to what he had after Tobias Harris was ridiculously traded. If you don't think he gets 30 minutes, it drops him obviously,
94.9d

Why are we so high on him?just worry his skill set will be polished enough to facial the team?
