Brook's fantasy value will prob be about the same. Zubac assassinated for the year. Russell should continue to grow. Lin might be negatively affected but he's always hurt anyway. Mozgov might have sneaky value in deeper leagues.

what do think his shut down potential is? my playoffs start next week (I have a bye). Should I trade him now? should I wait until semi-finals week?

My playoffs start next week, given the info we know now (or lack of), would you add him to your weekly roster? Up for Yes, Down for No. Unfortunately, Zeller is my only other option.

Hamilton has been stsrting when Lopez misses games this year, but is averaging just 22 minutes per start. The Nets don't really give anybody outside of Lopez decent minutes

Even if Lopez were to get shut down this season, there's a good chance that Hamilton, Acy, and Nicholson would just split the minutes the rest of the way, limiting all of their value to deep leagues.

#50952 -- I trust them both. Brook may get traded and could see his value change. And if the Sixers get healthy or make some trades, Covington could end up with a smaller role. But in general, there's no reason not to trust both players' production.

Brook for sure. I'd argue that Embiid has a higher chance of shutdown. Philly will be looking for excuses to shutdown Embiid and any Ws late in the season could hurt their pick. The Nets actually don't have as much motivation as usual to shutdown Brook. They've got the worst record in the league locked up.

100% (2) agree
charlie_brown102 -- In a general sense, I would think that any team that trades for Lopez is planning on him being a big part of their team, so I'd (generally) expect a trade to help his value some (especially since minutes limitations and b2b missed games might not be a thing anymore). With that said, it will depend on where he would get traded to and how they'd use him.

Brooklyn doesn't own their pick since Boston can swap for it, so they do not have shut down incentives like other bad teams.

#63195
Thoughts on Lopez as a shut down candidate? Seems like it would make sense since BKN inevitably will be at the bottom + Brolos injury history. I have a big opportunity to trade for a package involving either him or Klay...but I also worry about rest days for GSW...
231.3d
joshlloyd48
Both he and Thad Young didn't play the last six games of last season, but jbs is right, your league hopefully doesn't go that far, so any late season rest shouldn't affect you.
231.3d
jbs5635
Only time he missed games last 2 years was really for rest. He's been as durable as anyone during that time. I assume you are in H2H which is why you are asking, but your league/leagues shouldn't be playing into April anyways. Not really worried about him missing key games. Sure, he could rest 1 or so when it matters...but that can be said for a lot of players. FWIW I would rather have him over Klay.
231.3d
JMega
I could see them shutting him down if they had their draft pick or a young C to develop, but they don't have either. Did they shut him down last year? I don't remember.

thanks for the tip. I do have custom projections, but the issue is that when other people in your league also use monster, those custom projections don't hold as much water. I see that he did get bumped up in 3s so maybe I'm not so crazy...

Whats the issue? 1.4 3s/g has him as the top centre in the league for 3pm. If you think he can go higher then like Peter Porker said throw it in a custom projection, the site makes it reaaaaaal easy to do.

lbjames, the point is i shouldn't have to ignore the projections. they should be adjusted to reflect what is going on. right now, he looks to be shooting 3s and there is no reason to believe he won't continue. my issue is w/ monster making seemingly random choices about when to buy into current season trends that differ from historical performance
238.6d
lbjames6
0% (1) agree
The projections are just an educated guess based on Brook's career. He's never shot or made this many three's, so it's anyone's guess whether he maintains it or drops off in that department. If you believe he continues the three's production, then ignore the projection and expect his rank to pull towards his per-36 numbers as his minutes increase.
238.6d

how is this projection continuing to go down? he is healthy w/ room for increased minutes, number 1 option so higher pts/36 is sustainable, his current blk/36 is in line w/ last year but it's projected lower. i also don't see how the 3s/36 isn't sustainable if he's committed to shooting them. bump 3s, pts, and blks please

He essentially doesn't take that mid-range jumper anymore. It's either a drive/move towards the basket, or a 3. I think given that his fg% can actually stay closer to 50% than I thought, and he should clear 1.0 3PM. Rebs likely dip, but given a 3 is worth more than a rebound, his value should still say comfortably in a the top 30.

They have similar value, but I would rather have Jokic's upside. In giving up Lopez, though, you're giving up the better points and blocks numbers for more rebounds and assists. I'd probably wait a little while longer @TimberBall. While I don't think Brook will have a great season, there will probably be a time that his value is higher than right now. But trading Brook in a punt FT% build is a no brainer goal for you this season.

Got him a 14 team H2H 11cat league and don't want to deal with this crap all season, luckily I'm already 'Big' heavy with Drummond, Gobert, Capela and Porzingis (punt FT build).
