(Continued) - wait a week or so before following up by phone if nothing is done. Talk to someone who again simply take note of the issue, but if you provide enough evidence which includes documented quotes from coaches, listing in game rotational pairing throughout games, who they've been matching up with defensively recently, how they've been getting used in games offensively, linking other sites where he may already reflect some updates to his position. If your real with the person on the phone and they seem to be someone who cares about these things too (aka a fantasy sport person) the issue tends to get ticketed with a higher sense of priority. - in rare cases it gets updated in short order while most often it still takes additional time or no update occurs; however, the player's ownership also seems to play a role in my experience -- highly likelihood with prominent players.

I've had rare success regarding getting Yahoo or ESPN to update player position eligibility, but when it has happened it's worked like this: - contact via email laying out evidence why they should have certain eligibility. - eventually receive an automatic response followed by a second response saying that your issue will be looked into while outlying their process of determining eligibility. Included is contact by phone information.

What are the odds he gets SG eligibility? I can never really understand the ruling on this and yahoo doesn't provide concrete info regarding the subject of eligibility.. It's incredibly crucial for me since I'm in the Semi-Final and need a shooting guard for friday :)

My feeling with Russell has always been that he'll be most effective when he's freed up to find his own shot without needing to always been the primary ball carrier and play maker. Similar to how Steph Curry shares that duty with Draymond Green. Using Clarkson in tandem with Russell and splitting ball carrying duties between the two of them just makes sense to me. Mind you, we shouldnt get carried away with one hot shooting performance. Lets see how this settles.

I think that's why are they running him at shooting guard to find our kchung. I don't really mind them playing him at shooting guard. I just think they should be trying to get him as many minutes as possible for a larger sample size. No reason to be playing guys like Nick Young decent minutes

He's not going to perform with Walton jerking him around. By playing him off the bench as a young player it has hurt his confidence and is basically saying they're not sure he's a good enough point guard. Is there anything to this constant listing of him as "probable"? Is it an organizational thing the Lakers are doing to keep pressure low on him? Is he still feeling sore? Trudell never mentions it and today's after game tweets were all about how proud Luke is of him and Julius and how well they're taking care of their bodies. So why do they keep listing him as probable-- they are just trolling fantasy nerds. That's it, right? Yes. That must be it.

Well lookee who decided to show up here after Russell had a bad game against the best defense in the league. DAR is averaging 26.3 minutes/game. How is that "consistent high minutes"? He's the #85 player even after last night's bad game and he was still a teenager earlier this year. I'll take that any day over someone like CJ McCollum who was total garbage until he was 24 years old.

Jokic's main issue was not getting enough minutes, and terrible rotations/playing next to Nurk. The talent was always there. D-Lo I'm not so sure about. He's been playing his natural position and been getting pretty consistent high minutes. I'm sure he'll blow up for a couple of 30 pt games and I'll get some 'I told you so's but i think there will be a lot of muck inbetween.

Homies were singing similar tunes about Jokic, but now look. I too am disappointed with DLo's production thus far, but there are other things in fantasy hoops that feed into player value - not just talent/ability. Walton isn't an idiot and DLo has a seemingly secure, long-term opportunity at the PG spot. I personally anticipate him being much better in the second half of the season. We shall see.

@Bobbywood I agree. I think he was heavily overhyped preseason. As per my earlier post, he's just not that great - maybe some of the hype was due to the high draft pick. He'll get better, but I think there are a lot of people who think/thought he is better than he appears to me (me included).

Contrary to what many think, I just don't see this kid becoming a special player. Very immature, not that athletic, makes terrible decisions and has a lot to learn. I like DA as a prospect as well. As young as he is, he has a great feel for the game as a point guard. Reminds me a little bit of Chris Paul at times. I don't think he'll ever be quite as efficient of a shooter or a top 5 passer like CP3 is though. (Worth noting CP3 shot 43% from the floor his first two seasons in the league and averaged only 16 points per 36). I think he'll have a good NBA career but I don't think he'll ever be a top 20 fantasy player. Maybe a Rudy Gay-like fantasy career.

it's not about beeing in the same sentence as Kobe or Magic, it's about having some kind of perspective for a 20 year old in his 2nd season. his TS% (fg%? really? we are not in the 90's anymore) is .524 and that's not bad and with more experience players tend to learn how and where to pick their spots and shoot better.

@TheRealShitChat, I have him in most of my teams, but any dude that's shooting .403 from the field doesn't have great shot selection. Period. What good is averaging 15 PPG when you taking bad shots, and shooting inefficiently? I'd say that if you give most scrubs 13 shots a game they could make or get near 15 PPG. His DRMP ranks 39th out of all PGs, making Metta World Peace's corpse look like the second coming of Scottie Pippen, he's nearly averaging as many TOs as assists, he has little to no dribble penetration and pretty much relies exclusively on mid-range jumpers, 3's and an old-man post-up game that looks like a weak-ass imitation of Shaun Livingston. I was trying to crowd source some opinions to see if what I saw on him was right or not, and you've thrown some cool homer fun facts at me that Mike Trudell might jot down on a napkin pre-game to enlighten viewers with. Cheers mate, thanks for the insight.

@BlazersFan, I'm guessing you're not a Russell fan just sort of on account of your username. In answer to your question, his shot selection is great for a dude who just turned 20, his defense will get better, he'll get more assists once his young teammates get better, and his handles are very good. Three Lakers 20 years or younger have averaged 15+ ppg: Magic, Kobe, D'Angelo. That's it. Salty that your already getting kind of old Portland team is shit? Yeah, I can see that.

His shot selection is pretty bad, he can't score at the basket, he's long, but a mediocre defender and he's not a great facilitator. He's also quite slow, and his handles aren't that great either. Sorry for the hate, but is there something I'm missing? And what can we expect him to develop into? I understand that he gets hot from time to time as any streaky shooter might, but nothing I've seen this season screams to me that he's a franchise cornerstone type player. Keen to hear your thoughts though.

Luke is doing an amazing job with these kids. You have to keep in mind that last year was a season-long parade of demoralization for them, especially for D-Lo. He knows this and is doing everything to take the pressure off of them. Occasionally that entails having them watch the vets close out games or not running them into buzz saws like the Spurs (we'll see Friday). Everything He's doing is to set D up to succeed and build up his confidence. You saw that tonight when he let him loose against a straw-man of a team in the Nets. He went berserk, saw his shots fall and got to close the game out as a winner. Luke knows the mind of a young player and he knows how to use the force when he senses it strongly in a young one.

He'll be fine. His numbers are already pretty nice and this is with him getting 27mpg. He's been shooting like ass, once his shot starts falling (which it will, he's getting a lot of open looks and not forcing), his value will go way up. He'll also get more PT, Luke has been playing LouWill a lot to close out. If DLo can make shots consistently then he'll get to close games out. Source: Am Lakers fan

Can anyone enlighten me on why Russell only getting 27 mins? I mean the dude was getting more burn in the pre-season. Pretty upset that I spent an early mid round pick on this kid if he can't even get 30 mins a night. Do we expect this to change or am I stuck with what I have for the year?

We're only 7 games into the Lakers' season, and D'Angelo is leading the team in minutes. There is nothing to worry about. The Lakers are easing their young players into the season as Walton gets to know his team. There are a lot of moving parts on this team, and Russell is still going to be the No. 1 option this season. He's a good buy-low target if anything.

Lou Williams and swaggy are having resurgences, and to make it worse, Lakers are winning! Hurting both Russell and Clarkson right now. I think only changes if a trade made or Lakers start losing and begin to view the year as developmental again.

Is anyone else worried about his minutes? Walton isn't giving him anything close to 35mins a game right now. It's really affecting his confidence and numbers. I'm pissed I spent a 4th round pick on him right now. I know it's a small sample size, but Walton is giving a lot of minutes to everyone. Should I worry?

I've drafted him on 2 teams. Need to be patient. He will get things going in a couple of weeks.

He picked up two quick fouls in the first minute of the game then didn't get much run the rest of the way for some reason. Looks like Luke felt that the bench unit was working well.
