Projection Updated10/17/2017
Analyst CommentCould easily be the best rookie this season, but I'd still have Fultz over him in dynasty leagues. Scoring is the issue, but the assists should be there from day 1.

thinking of trading valanciunus for a all-round pg. lonzo ball (up) or dennis smith jr (down) in a no % league.

I think it means as close to nothing as you can get

So one half of the Lakers is undefeated against the other half in scrimmages... Does that really mean anything? Rotoworld keep talking about like their winning championships and Lonzo is the MVP.

I hear what you're saying, but even the likes of Emmanuel Mudiay managed to put up 13 ppg his rookie year on a horrific 36% FG. Ball owns the highest TS% in history by a freshman guard by a huge margin. His eFG at UCLA was 67%, which is laughably higher than CP3's 51%, DAR's 48%, etc. No one else come close. I think we can just revisit this in a few months and see if projections should be revised accordingly.

Hi joshlloyd48, as I am reading the Analyst comments, I wanted to know, who is actually writing the Analyst comment section? Are these your "Analyst comments", or is it a combination of the admins/writers here on BBM writing these comments. Thanks Josh!

Ball will have a much harder time scoring in the NBA than he did in college. He shot a ridiculous 70+% on 2 pointers at UCLA, which will certainly come down to earth. Also, he will have less airspace, meaning his hitched release will be harder to get off cleanly. He has also had trouble creating shots for himself off the dribble (except on pull up jumpers, see previous point) so he will have to find news ways to score especially early in the season as he adjusts to the pro game. Furthermore, he won't be forced to score as much as he did in college, with guys like Lopez, Randle, KCP, and Clarkson on the roster.

Josh, do you think that 11.1 ppg might be a little low for Ball? 23.9 ppg senior year of high school, 14.6 in college and 16.3 in SL. I think something like 14 ppg might be a bit more realistic.
