Harris will play in Game 3 vs. the Rockets on Friday, according to coach Rick Carlisle. He was a full participant in Thursday's practice and had been considered probable heading in. Carlisle said after the practice session that Harris' "progress has been positive" after he was forced to sit out of Tuesday's loss due to his left turf toe. He has also been experiencing significant soreness in the second toe on his left foot, which was surgically repaired in the summer of 2013, a complicated procedure that caused him to miss the first half of last season. Harris will see extended run in the backcourt moving forward along with JJ Barea and Raymond Felton, with Rajon Rondo (back) having been declared out indefinitely.

Coach Rick Carlisle said Tuesday that his toe was improving but he wasn't quite ready for game action. Harris has also been experiencing significant soreness in the second toe on his left foot, which was surgically repaired in the summer of 2013, a complicated procedure that caused him to miss the first half of last season. Harris has been ruled out for Game 2 vs. the Rockets on Tuesday due to his left turf toe. Coach Rick Carlisle said his toe is "a little bit better, but he's not ready to play." Carlisle added that the Mavs will update Harris' status further on Wednesday. "The hope is that he can do well enough where he can play, but he's got a situation that’s sensitive because it involves the foot that had a very unique surgery and we got to be careful with it." Harris is also experiencing significant soreness in the second toe on his left foot, which was surgically repaired in the summer of 2013, a complicated procedure that caused him to miss the first half of last season. We'll update his status further as information allows, and JJ Barea and Raymond Felton will see additional run at the guard spots for as long as he remains sidelined.

Questionable Left turf toe Open link
Harris was on the court for morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision for Game 2 vs. the Rockets on Tuesday due to his left turf toe. He didn't return for the second half of Saturday's loss after aggravating the injury, which also caused him to miss the Mavs' regular season finale. Harris is also experiencing significant soreness in the second toe on his left foot, which was surgically repaired in the summer of 2013, a complicated procedure that caused him to miss the first half of last season. "I can’t not wear the tape, but the tape is also putting pressure on that surgical toe where it doesn't need to be," he said. "So it’s about finding that balance of still protecting the big toe but not putting that second toe at risk. It’s going to be trial and error." JJ Barea and Richard Jefferson would see additional run at the off guard if this were to cost Harris any additional time.

Harris has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Lakers for the purposes of rest. Coach Rick Carlisle said previously that he'd look to get his key players some rest during the regular season's final few games, particularly with the Mavs playing a back-to-back on Sunday and Monday. JJ Barea and Raymond Felton will see additional run in the backcourt on Sunday in Harris' absence.
3/24/2015 7:06 PM
Active Illness Open link
Harris will be active for Tuesday's game vs. the Spurs, although he may not yet be 100 percent recovered from his illness. "Devin went through things," coach Rick Carlisle said after morning shootaround. "But what we’re seeing is that this stomach thing that’s going around is a little unpredictable. At this point, it appears he’s going to play. But you never know when there’s going to be a run to the back. We’ll hope for the best. We definitely need him." Raymond Felton and Richard Jefferson would see additional run in the backcourt if Harris were to end up being limited on Tuesday.

Harris will return to the lineup on Tuesday vs. the Cavs, as expected, after missing the past two games due to a bruised right hand. His return will take back minutes in the backcourt from JJ Barea and Raymond Felton as he provides some much needed depth behind Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis.

Probable Bruised right hand Open link
Harris will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's contest vs. the Cavs, though coach Rick Carlisle said he thinks that Harris will be able to play. Harris looked good shooting and dribbling during morning shootaround so he doesn't appear to be far off from a return in any case after missing the past two games due to a bruised right hand. His likely return will take back minutes in the backcourt from JJ Barea and Raymond Felton.

Harris has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Warriors, as expected, with a bruised right thumb. X-rays came back negative, which is good news, after he took a hard shot to his hand during Thursday's loss. "I was dribbling under the basket and (Robin) Lopez kind of took a whack at the ball and hit me in an awkward spot," Harris said. "There’s a little bit of pain. I can't really move it." There's a chance that he could miss additional time beyond Friday as his thumb was so swollen and sore after Thursday's game that he struggled to get dressed, although he said he's hoping to return to the lineup as soon as Sunday.
