Has there been any comment from Gentry about whether Jrue would play in the B2B this week?
104.5d
kylemckeown16
sircharlesbarkley - Holiday only played 25 minutes last night, and he's at risk of playing reduced minutes again tonight. Gentry is unpredictable, so there's a chance Holiday could play 30+ tonight, but that doesn't appear likely. The Pelicans are out of the playoff race and giving minutes to their end-of-bench players.

what the hell happened to Jrue's FT% this year? An +80% shooter dropping to below 70%? I don't understand...definitely contributed to my team's weak FT shooting this year

I've got Jrue on my team and am considering benching him tomorrow because I'm barely holding on to a FG% lead. I figure he's going to be matched up with Beverly and will probably not fair very well shooting wise. Thoughts? UP for benching him.

#38739-- You're not nuts. We'll likely see a dropoff in assists and points, but Hoilday should maintain good value. Without seeing your roster, it sounds like you've determined Jrue's production would be better for your team than Lopez's. -- If you're trying to buy-low, though, I might send someone with less value than Lopez. Lopez for Holiday is like paying full price at the moment.
147.4d
#38739
With so many mediocre guards around Jrue (with all the respect to Jarret Jack's 10 days contract), i really believe he'll retain most of his value (except of pts; and he'll improve in ft% to his career stats). His bigs will make it easy for him in 2-3 weeks from now. In my 14 teams h2h league I'm trying to trade for him, and even willing to give B.Lopez in return (want more assists and steals). Am i nuts?
148.2d

A little bit of both combined with him being just not very good tonight. 0-6 from three and all of the looks were wide open

Maybe a little of both? Shot 3/12 and will need to adjust to playing with Demarcus. I don't buy the points projection on here, probably more around 12-14 but D stats will be there and so should assists once he adjusts.

sircharlesbarkley
Beverley effect or Demarcus effect?
148.2d
nonyschuk
Yes it's only one game and there should be no need to panic...but I can't help lamenting this game when weighing in just how dominant he was before today, hopefully it's just a blip, he adjusts and get's back to killing it when it counts a few weeks from now

Forget about Holiday when projecting him, just look at the rest of his team and you can see his value. The Pelicans have nobody outside of Davis. Holiday should hold value on that reason alone. Besides, when Evans is finally healthy again he'll probably be put on a minutes restriction/ timeshare with the SG's. Dude has Greg Oden knees. If you wanna drop Holiday's value a little go ahead but he's a top 75 play at least.

100% (4) agree
I read through a couple times..and I think this is went Gentry meant: 1. Jrue is currently on a minutes limit (high 20s) 2. There are 48 minutes in a basketball game. However, if he doesn't start, there are only 36 minutes in which he can play in. Here is the key: 3. Therefore, if he doesn't start, he doesn't need to have that period of time during the game where he starts, and sits after a short break, then plays again. Since he doesn't start, he will come off the bench and have less overall "resting time in between shifts" while still playing the same amount of minutes. And as we all learned from Jason Kidd, it's better for someone to have less resting time in between shifts, otherwise it will mess your playing time up.

As I owner who drafted Jrue, I of course would love to see him start. However, the way the team has been playing with him coming off the bench, I understand to Coaching staff not wanting to mess the chemistry. I agree on his leg. They took it slow with him all season last year despite him having no issues at all and I believe the problem could be fixed. It's also known as the anti-Wizards, where you play a guy with stress reactions 40 minutes on back to backs, just because.
245.2d

Huge majority of time missed was due to stress reaction/stress fracture reoccurrences. He now has a steel rod in his leg and once they ramped his min up last year he had no issues...obviously great sign and maybe it helped to solve the problem...so to speak. Obviously still some risk but based on that info there is certainly more optimism, at least for me, about him staying healthy. Dude is a baller and he took his offensive game to another level last year. Hope he stays on the court.

DarkHorseFantasy I only have Lillard, Dragic and Walker for assists. I was hoping Oladipo would get me another 3-5 but WB has been eating a lot so trading him is what im thinking. Points, Rebounds, Steals and 3s wise, Oladipo and Holiday seem very similar. I'm punting fg%, blocks and TOs in a Yahoo standard league.

Not sure if that's something anyone here could answer. I think that's ultimately up to you and however many teams there are in your league, coupled with the fact if your own team can take a loss of a spot if you pick him up early.

Jester why can't you use your discretion? He was out due to his wife's health condition and it's just a best-guess scenario as to when he'll be back. Jrue's a professional baller and one would guess he goes back to his job as soon as his wife begins to recover. Surgery just took place and one would guess 1 to 2 months (max) he'll be away which is the Dec time frame. Don't blame the GPS if you drive off into the river.

There was a technical issue, there has been no change to his projected return date. We have heard nothing concrete, surgery was a little earlier than anticipated and all has gone well and Pels people still think December, but it could be November or it could be January or later.

His games played went from a projected 47 to a projected 69. Is this based on the fact the surgery went well or has there been any extra info circulated recently? And coming back on 12/15/16 still has him missing about 29-30 games. Just trying to plan accordingly here.

@astearns for now he is eligble at IL. not sure if it will hold though as there are already grumblings in yahoo uservoice and the status is "under review". personally, i think he shouldn't be labeled as INJ but rather "OUT" as he technically isn't injured.
