He was just dropped. Although he doesn't really fit my build (I already have excess amount of guards), is he worth my #3 waiver? I'd be dropping biyombo and there are no IR spots in this league. Currently 2nd place and 10 games up on 5th place.

The last update we got was last Monday, and they said he was out indefinitely. This hamstring injury was said to be less serious than his previous injury, so there's reason to believe he'll return sooner than later. With that said, hamstring injuries are often treated on a week-to-week basis, and that seems to be what's happening here. If you're buried in your standings and need to fight for every category win possible, you may need to drop Lin in a non-IR league. If you can hold him and remain in contention for a playoff spot, that'd be ideal.

yeah i am worried about this that is why i hesitate. i like payton right now and no guarantee i could get him back from waivers if i drop him to stash lin on IR. the difference is mostly pts and 3s with him. why does bbm show 1/10 return date if he is out indefinitely?

Whether or not to hold him in a non-IR league depends largely on who else is available on the wire and where you are in the standings. If you're a far way out from the playoffs and we hear that Lin is going to be out another month, I'd be ready to drop him. I obviously don’t want to put a time limit or a day, but I suspect it pretty soon." -- And that's where we're at, still in the land of ambiguity. Hamstrings can linger. The longer he sits on my IR, the more I worry about his minutes once he comes back. No one on the Nets averages over 28 mpg. Is Jeremy Lin--a backup who happens to start on a shitty team, and who just missed a month due to injury--going to average 4 more minutes than everyone else on the roster? Isiah Whitehead ain't knockin on the door, but that doesn't matter so much in today's NBA. The new BKN regime has an extremely conservative minutes allocation.
