I like the way he's trending. Playing minutes in the high 20s, plus with wade out i'm pretty sure he'll play even more now. I'm personally gonna ride him out with my streamer spot. We've seen he has proven upside when he gets the minutes.

How much does Niko benefit from the D-wade injury? I already picked up Valentine. I have only one pickup left this week. I could get one quality game out of Niko or two quality games out of someone like Skal or David Lee (assuming they're still on the wire on Saturday). I'm in a very close playoff match where every category is in play other than FT%. In other words should I scoop up Niko now after the Wade news or wait it out.

Sure that's a great line but he isn't consistent at all. He has shot below 32% from 3 in 2 of his three seasons so far ( well this season isn't over but you get the idea) and is at 34% from distance for his career. He is under 31% this year, and it's been dropping, so dude is on his way to Josh Smith territory if this keeps up. Sure, I hear the excuses that he needs to get in a groove or see more time but maybe he would if he could actually shoot...especially considering he has some defensive issues
63.3d
Jayde
100% (2) agree
@Kyle: I don't think that is fully accurate. Adjusting custom projections to 23 minutes with the current projected per/36 value has him ranked 112 vs. his 138 season-long value. His per-36 projections are clearly higher than his season production. In 9-cat he's projected as rank 55th in per-36 despite being only 109th on the season. I think the issue is that projecting him to have the same production as last season despite the large roster changes is perhaps not quite right.
63.3d
#62477
Look at his last game last season...when players show that they are capable of those kinds of lines, it makes us almost irrationally hopeful that they can consistently put up nice numbers.
63.3d
jbs5635
Why are some so high on this dude? I get he has had his stretches but for the vast majority of his 2 1/2 years in the league he hasnt performed well and has been a terrible shooter.
63.4d
kylemckeown16
50% (2) agree
tc2000 -- The difference between his 9-cat season rank (138) and his 9-cat projection rank (85) is the 2 extra minutes we have him projected to play over the remainder of the season. Mirotic has averaged 23 mpg this season, and we project him to average 25 mpg the rest of the way. The difference of 2 minutes in Mirotic's projection makes him a top-90 player or just a top-140 player.

I wouldn't take the 31% at face value. Shooters need to get into their rhythm but Hoiberg rarely gives him enough minutes on the floor to get into a rhythm. If he misses his first few shots, he gets yanked and doesn't get to shoot more to normalize up to his true shooting %.

Eldar7 -- In my opinion, Collison is a drop candidate in shallower leagues at this point, but I wouldn't drop Gary Harris. I don't trust Mirotic's minutes. He played a lot in a blowout loss and then a lot again with McDermott out. Hoiberg has been dumb all season about playing other people over Mirotic, and until Hoiberg starts playing him 30 mpg every night, I'm not going to hold my breath. In short, I wouldn't drop anyone who is expected to have consistent big minutes this season for Mirotic.

One thing to watch with Mirotic, in contrast with most players he plays better in games on the road. His away game numbers are better than his home games (last season totals). This season the sample size isn't big enough to see it but even so there is evidence that he has something going against him for home games. Maybe his home cooking isn't very good?

Dropped him too for the lord. It was an expirement based also on the projections from BBM but due to the experience from last year where I paid a fortune for him, I knew this is just a lottery ticket. You can pick him back up as soon as he starts to produce two games in a row.

Because he missed six shots, so according to Hoiberg, that means you sit him on the bench. He didn't have it going and Portis couldn't miss, so that factored into as well
